*#1 Christmas Bestseller in Vampire Romance, Paranormal & Fantasy on Amazon*

On the evening of Sofia Claremont's seventeenth birthday, she is sucked into a nightmare from which she cannot wake.

A quiet evening walk along a beach brings her face to face with a dangerous pale creature that craves much more than her blood.

She is kidnapped to an island where the sun is eternally forbidden to shine. An island uncharted by any map and ruled by the most powerful vampire coven on the planet. She wakes here as a slave, a captive in chains.

Sofia's life takes a thrilling and terrifying turn when she is the one selected out of hundreds of girls to join the harem of Derek Novak, the dark royal Prince.

Despite his addiction to power and obsessive thirst for her blood, Sofia soon realizes that the safest place on the island is within his quarters, and she must do all within her power to win him over if she is to survive even one more night.

Will she succeed? ...or is she destined to the same fate that all other girls have met at the hands of the Novaks?

3.5 stars out of 5 stars

I always enjoy a good vampire story and this one was a really good, fast read.

Sophia seems to be more of a wallflower in the beginning of the story. She is silently strong and stands up for herself the best she can after she’s kidnapped. When Sophia meets Derek, she seems to be intrigued by him yet frightened at the same time.

I think Derek is an interesting character, struggling with who he is, being a vampire and all. He misses his humanity and sees it in Sophia. He is drawn to her because of it.

I liked both the main characters throughout the story and felt they have good chemistry. It definitely grows and involves, it’s heartwarming. I really enjoyed Derek’s character, he had a lot of depth to him and I found myself wanting to now more about him and his point of view.

Overall the story was good but had a few slow spots in the beginning. By the time I hit 60%, I was thoroughly engaged and couldn't put it down. There was a lot more drama towards the end and it completely held my attention.

The loved the epilogue! It lays the groundwork for the next book because it’s part of a series and I absolutely want to know what happens next.

Really good story and I enjoyed the characters! I’m definitely a fan!

Book received from author in exchange for an honest review.
