Fans of Fifty Shades of Grey, Bared to You, and Release Mewill be hooked on Ruined, an electrifying journey of emotional and sexual discovery that pushes two damaged souls to their breaking point—and beyond.

He’s the last man Chloe Girard should love . . . but the first she ever could.

Ethan Frost is a visionary, a genius, every woman’s deepest, darkest fantasy—even mine. And, somehow, I am his.

He stole into my life like a dream. Turned my reality upside down and made my every desire come true—especially those I never knew I had. He demanded everything I had to give and gave me everything of himself in return.

But dreams don’t last forever, and ours is no exception. Because my nightmares are darker, and my wounds deeper, than I could ever reveal. And as much as Ethan wants to protect me, the secrets we we share will only tear us apart.

3 out of 5 stars

Overall I liked this story. It had a fun introduction and was a bit playful. I really liked the back and forth battle with the blender, that was entertaining. Chloe and Ethan are interesting characters. They have a very fast paced relationship, not a lot of build up but I did like their chemistry.

We learn lots about Chloe and some of her past is heart breaking. Ethan is super sweet and sexy and I really liked him and we do learn about him but I feel like it’s mostly surface stuff, there was no real nitty-gritty with him until the last 10%. To be honest, the last 25% was a bit slow for me. Up until this point I thought it was a solid story but the end got a bit repetitive for me and Chloe kept having the same battle within over and over. It was nice to see Chloe grow and come to terms with a few of those things in her past.

There's a cliffhanger (this is book one of two) and I saw it coming once Ethan had his darker moment at the end. I felt like we finally got a taste of Ethan and then it was over. I still have lots of questions and want to know what will happen next.

There is a nice build of heat throughout and some steamy moments but no major sexy times until about 80% in. I’m not sure why but from the description I was expecting a lot more steaminess and it kind of felt flat in that department for me.

Good story, decent characters, and intriguing moments with nice bits of drama. I enjoyed it and liked it enough that I want read book two, Addicted. :-)
