Devils Game 3

Devil’s Game (Reapers MC #3) by Joanna Wylde

synopsis_thumb2

Devil's Game is a raw and intensely erotic tale in Joanna Wylde's Reapers Motorcycle Club series, following Reaper's Legacy.

Liam "Hunter" Blake hates the Reapers MC. Born and raised a Devil's Jack, he knows his duty. He'll defend his club from their oldest enemies-the Reapers-using whatever weapons he can find. But why use force when the Reapers' president has a daughter who's alone and vulnerable? Hunter has wanted her from the minute he saw her, and now he has an excuse to take her.

Em has lived her entire life in the shadow of the Reapers. Her overprotective father, Picnic, is the club's president. The last time she had a boyfriend, Picnic shot him. Now the men in her life are far more interested in keeping her daddy happy than showing her a good time. Then she meets a handsome stranger-a man who isn't afraid to treat her like a real woman. One who isn't afraid of her father. His name is Liam, and he's The One.

Or so she thinks.

The Reapers Motorcycle Club series is a fresh and gritty romance series from Joanna Wylde, which fans of Fifty Shades and Sons of Anarchy will lust after. Devil's Game follows Reaper's Legacy.

my-review

4.5 out of 5 stars

This was an excellent story! I loved the characters and the conflict the author created between Em and Liam. There was a unique dynamic filled with tension, heat, and chemistry that created a forbidden and intriguing pull towards one another. I couldn't put it down!

The epilogue really pulled me in, giving me a good feel for Em and Liam. It was told from both their POVs, Em’s was a bit funny and I could totally sympathize and Liam’s was heartbreaking and intense. Their overall relationship was full of lots of twists and turns. At times I could feel the anxiety and tension. I loved it all! I really enjoyed their internal dialogues as well. I liked Em in the beginning but by the end I loved her – girl power! Liam was so sweet, trying to do the right thing but caught in an impossible situation. I loved the moments when they really had to stand up for themselves and what they believed in and wanted.

The first 40% recaps the kidnapping from Reaper’s Legacy and I loved getting all the nitty-gritty details. Intensity, drama, crazy young attraction and lust! I thought the story unfolded nicely, had a great pace, and had a seriously awesome build the entire time. I felt excited with everything I was reading. This was a major page turner for me. The heat and sexy times were hot hot hot as well!

I really like how all the other characters and Reaper MC brothers played into everything. The parts that were touched upon from book two felt fresh, not rehashed. There were some highly entertaining scenes throughout the story that helped break up the overall intensity, I enjoyed those lighter moments a lot.

Great ending! I liked Em and Liam's conclusion but I loved the epilogue that contained Picnics POV. It was a great intro of what’s to come in Reaper’s Stand. Some of the details of Picnic’s life from Em’s point of view made me want to smack him upside the head. It makes me anxious for Picnic to get his happy ending.

Overall this was a fantastic story. Nice intensity, perfect build, great chemistry and awesome characters! While I did really enjoy the overlap with book two from Em and Liam’s POVs, I was thrilled when the story moved onto uncharted territory. I would definitely recommend this story and the entire series. Must reads!
