A missed first encounter…

Colliding with a second chance…

On the heels of graduating college and trying to cope with her mother’s death, Emily Cooper moves to New York City for a fresh start.

While harboring secrets of his own, Dillon Parker takes care of Emily through her grief. Knowing he can’t live without her by his side, he’s sweet, thoughtful, and everything Emily has ever wanted in a man.

Until she meets Gavin Blake—a rich and notorious playboy who is dangerously sexy and charming as hell. Emily tries to deny the instant connection she feels, but Mr. Tall, Dark, and Handsome is not inclined to let go so easily. Recovering from his own painful past, Gavin will stop at nothing to win Emily over.

This unexpected encounter compels Emily to question her decisions, forcing her to make a choice that will destroy friendships, shatter hearts, and forever change her life.

5 out of 5 stars

I love a story that I can lose myself in, that makes me feel, and makes me fall completely in love with all the characters. This was it. My heart felt like it was in a million pieces when I finished. Loved it!

There were such interesting and complex characters throughout. The whole dynamic of who likes who and the build was amazing. That build killed me too because Gavin and Emily's pull towards one another was so intense. Loved their chemistry!

Gavin wasn't the stereotypical rich guy to me. He had so much depth and I loved how he and Emily's relationship evolved and how persistent he was. So many thing with him just made me catch my breath and completely fall in love with him. I was neutral on Emily for about half the book, trying to figure her out, and then bam! I got it. I really liked her and felt for her. I'm not sure what else to say without spoiling anything but I get how and why she ended up making the choices she made. Dillon… talk about a character that makes your skin crawl. For as much as I loathed him, I thought he was really well written because he elicited all these emotions from me.

I thought the story was well developed, everything flowed nicely, and I really liked all the secondary characters. They all made sense and were well written. This story is told from third person and I really enjoyed it. It's was nice knowing what both Emily and Gavin were thinking throughout.

The end. Excuse me while I sit in the corner crying since my heart has been ripped out of my chest… cliffhanger! This book had me anxiety ridden and stressing out. It got under my skin and made me want for these people, hope for them, and cry for them. This book had me completely wrapped up and emotionally invested.

I fell in love, I got twisted up, and my heart got broken. It was just a fantastic read that had me rooting for these people that were meant to be together but had so many ups and downs and obstacles along the way. I need Gavin and bottle caps and Pulse (book #2) immediately. 5 stars all the way. Loved it!!!!
