Find Me In Passion – Part 3 (Dark Pleasures #4)

by Julie Kenner

synopsis_thumb2

A doomed woman. A dangerous and mysterious man. And an epic passion that cannot be denied…

From the first moment I saw Malcolm, I felt his power shudder through me. Lithe and powerful, dark and controlling, he cast a spell over me that I didn’t understand, but to which I willingly surrendered.

One touch and I melted. One glance into his storm-swept eyes and I was lost. One kiss, and I was bound.

But sometimes passion can burn to hot, and it would take all of our strength for Mal and I to survive the fire that raged between us...

Don’t miss Mal and Christina’s story:

4 out of 5 stars

This story was filled with tension, turmoil, passion and hotness! I really enjoyed it.

I thought part three was a great end to this series. Christina was really struggling but Mal was right there for her. I love their connection and the passion they share. There was a nice amount of heat but the focus was really on getting to the conclusion of Christina, what was going on with her, and her relationship with Mal and I thought it played out well.

Loved the intensity at the end and everything that happened with the amulet but I was hoping for a bit more drama. I was so happy about what happened with Raine. I think this is a great series with a nice otherworldly element mixed in.

Three Simple Rules (The Blindfold Club #1)

by Nikki Sloan

synopsis_thumb2

I would do anything for my dream job. Now I have to.

In order to save my skin at the office, I'm forced to sell it at an exclusive and illegal blindfold club. He paid thousands of dollars for one night to own me, but when my blindfold comes off, I want more. More nights, more rules, and more from this unavailable and uncompromising man.

Rule number one, no questions. Rule number two, no lies. But, rule number three? That's the hardest one to obey.

This book contains strong sexual content and is intended for mature audiences only.

From Nikki Sloan: Like most authors, listening to music while writing is an absolute must for me. Sometimes I listen to the same song on repeat when I work on a specific scene because either the lyrics match the emotion I’m trying to get on the page, (like “Strange & Beautiful”) or the general mood of the song has a great atmosphere. (“Paradise Circus”)

It’s important to note this has side effects. One of the bigger, ahem, “set pieces” was written to Gotye’s “Heart’s A Mess” and now I can’t listen to it without getting horribly turned on. I have a complete Pavlovian response, which is all sorts of awkward when it comes on Pandora while I’m at the office.

Anyway, here is the somewhat eclectic, sexy mix of music I had playing endlessly on my laptop into the wee hours of the night while I drafted “Three Simple Rules.” Hope you enjoy!

Nikki Sloane fell into graphic design after her careers as a waitress, a screenwriter, and a ballroom dance instructor fell through. For eight years she worked for a design firm in that extremely tall, black, and tiered building in Chicago that went through an unfortunate name change during her time there. Now she lives in Kentucky and manages a team of graphic artists. She is married and has two sons, writes both romantic suspense and dirty books, and couldn’t be any happier.

4 out of 5 stars

This was a great addition to the story! It jumps right back into it with a bit of a recap and then there is immediate action and intensity.

There's a lot of tension between the two main characters since Christina is fighting for self control of what's inside her and Mal is trying to help her. It created lots of heat, very sensual and erotic. There is definitely a hotness factor in this story but it seemed dialed back a bit with more of a focus on them, the otherworldly battles they were facing, and Christina’s internal struggle. Just like part 1, this is told from both their POV's but this one had more of a focus on Christina. I liked it, watching her work things out and grow but I did miss Mal’s voice. It was there, just not as balanced as the previous story. More details are learned about the past and other characters individual strengths, I thought it was all really cool.

This was fast paced in the beginning but there was a section in the middle that was a bit slower. There was a nice amount of action and drama at the end to round it all out. It really had me on the edge of my seat. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel and I'm excited for these characters to pull everything off to save Christina and as an added bonus, hopefully help another character as well. I am looking forward to part 3 and conclusion!

Bring on Find Me in Passion!

Prince

The Prince (The Florentine #0.5) by Sylvain Reynard

  Release Day: January 20, 2015

synopsis_thumb2

The unveiling of a set of priceless illustrations of Dante’s Divine Comedy at the Uffizi Gallery exposes the unsuspecting Professor Gabriel Emerson and his beloved wife, Julianne, to a mysterious and dangerous enemy.

Unbeknownst to the Professor, the illustrations he secretly acquired years ago were stolen a century earlier from the ruler of Florence’s underworld. Now one of the most dangerous beings in Italy is determined to reclaim his prized artwork and exact revenge on the Emersons, but not before he uncovers something disturbing about Julianne …

Set in the city of Florence, “The Prince” is a prequel novella to “The Raven,” which is the first book in the new Florentine Series Trilogy by Sylvain Reynard.

“The Prince” can be read as a standalone but readers of The Gabriel Series may be curious about the connection between The Professor’s world and the dark, secret underworld of “The Prince.”

The Raven (The Florentine #1) by Sylvain Reynard

  Release Day: February 3, 2015

synopsis_thumb2

From the New York Times bestselling author of the Gabriel Series comes a dark, sensual tale of romance in a city shrouded in mystery…

Raven Wood spends her days at Florence’s Uffizi Gallery restoring fine works of Renaissance art. But an innocent walk home after an evening with friends changes her life forever. When she intervenes in the senseless beating of a homeless man, his attackers turn on her, dragging her into an alley. Raven is only semi-conscious when their assault is interrupted by a cacophony of growls followed by her attacker’s screams. Mercifully, she blacks out, but not before catching a glimpse of a shadowy figure who whispers to her…

Cassita vulneratus.

When Raven awakes, she is inexplicably changed. She returns to the Uffizi, but no one recognizes her and more disturbingly, she discovers that she’s been absent an entire week. With no recollection of the events leading up to her disappearance, Raven also learns that her absence coincides with one of the largest robberies in Uffizi history – the theft of a set of priceless Botticelli illustrations. When the baffled police force identifies her as its prime suspect, Raven is desperate to clear her name. She seeks out one of Florence’s wealthiest and elusive men in an attempt to uncover the truth about her disappearance. Their encounter leads Raven to a dark underworld whose inhabitants kill to keep their secrets…

From The Prince:

In the distance, the Prince could hear voices and muffled sounds.

He approached silently, almost floating across the floor.

Desperate groans and the rustling of fabric filled his ears, along with the twin sounds of rapidly beating hearts. He could smell their scents, the aromas heightened due to their sexual arousal.

He growled in reaction.

The corridor was shrouded in darkness but the Prince could see that the professor had his wife up against a window between two statues, her legs wrapped around his waist.

Her voice was breathy as she spoke, but the Prince tuned out her words, moving closer so he could catch a glimpse of her lovely face.

At the sight of it, flushed with passion, his old heart quickened and he felt the stirrings of arousal.

It was not his custom to observe rather than participate. But on this occasion, he decided to make an exception. Careful to remain in the darkness, he moved to the wall opposite the couple.

The woman squirmed in her lover’s arms, her high heels catching on his tuxedo jacket. Her fingers flew to his neck, undoing his bow tie and tossing it carelessly to the floor.

She unbuttoned his shirt, and her mouth moved to his chest, as murmurs of pleasure escaped his lips.

The Prince felt more than desire as he watched the woman’s eager movements. He caught a glimpse of her exquisite mouth and the toss of her long hair that would no doubt feel like silk between his fingers.

She lifted her head to smile at the man who held her close and he could see love in her eyes.
