Review: The Cad and the Co-Ed (Rugby #3) by L. H. Cosway and Penny Reid

I loved, loved, LOVED this! It was an amazing story and the build and development in Bryan and Eilish’s relationship was incredible. The Cad and the Co-Ed is not to be missed!

The Cad and the Co-Ed (Rugby #3) by L. H. Cosway & Penny Reid

Keeping a secret this big is going to take lots of balls. Specifically, rugby balls.

THE CAD

Bryan Leech is a cad.

Or, he *was* a cad.

No one is quite certain.

Once the quintessential playboy, Bryan claims he’s done with wild parties and weekend benders. No more one night stands leading to mornings he can’t remember; no more binges and blackouts; no more exploits plastered all over the tabloids and rag sheets. According to Bryan, he’s cleaning up his act.

The only problem is, no one believes him.

THE CO-ED

Eilish Cassidy never thought she’d be a mother at nineteen or still in college at twenty-four. Cut off from every member of her family except her favorite cousin, she’s finally managed to put her life back together. Stronger and wiser, Eilish enters her last semester of university determined to stand on her own. Now she just needs to find an internship.

The only problem is, her best option—by far—places her directly in the path of her son’s father, and he doesn’t remember her at all.

THE PLAN

Bryan is determined to prove he’s changed. Eager to settle down with the right woman, he’s got his sights set on the gorgeous redhead who seems terribly familiar.

Eilish is determined to hide her secret. She’ll do anything to keep her child safe, even if that means ignoring her own wishes and desires.

But what happens when Bryan starts to remember? And what will it take for Bryan to convince the girl he forgot that she’s unforgettable?

5 out of 5 stars

It's not very often I finish a book and immediately want to start reading it again but with The Cad and the Co-Ed, that’s exactly what I wanted to do so I could relive every single second of this amazing story. I loved it so much!

I felt like my emotions were about to spill over the entire time I was reading. I was so pulled into this amazing and beautiful story. I loved both of the main characters so much. That first two chapters hooked me and had me rooting for them both. I loved Eilish and her strength and determination. So hurt but so strong all rolled into one as she does everything in her power to make a good life for her son. And Bryan, oh my, he is my new favorite! I loved his character and the evolution of him coming to be the man he is today. There were so many fantastic moments making my belly flip-flop thanks to him, it was amazing.

Eilish and Bryan had such a wonderful and sweet relationship, liking each other with growing feelings but trying to hold back and protect themselves. There is such a fantastic build to their relationship. I was filled with so much anticipation waiting for Eilish to tell Bryan the truth about her son. I was lost to it all. There were just so many wonderful things about this. I love how the authors added a tough subject to the mix, what Bryan was dealing with. It was all just perfect. Eilish, as much as she was strong, she was also really stubborn but I totally got her and why she thought the things she did. I got both of them actually considering their pasts. I couldn't wait for her to let her guard down and oh my goodness it was so worth the wait.

The writing was brilliant! Filled with so much wit and humor, I loved the dialogue between the characters and the internal dialogue as well. I was smiling though the majority of this book actually. It was just so well written and thought out. I thought there was excellent character development, and the overall story development and build was perfect. I like all the other characters involved and especially enjoyed more Sean. He was so sneaky in this and I loved his mischief in helping get Eilish and Bryan together. I love, adored, couldn't get enough of all the moments with little Patrick. Talk about making my heart burst. All those bonding moments between him and Bryan had me tearing up. Of course there is a bit of drama and turmoil that was keeping me in the edge of my seat but it made for the best ending.

This story is gold! I enjoyed every single second! I loved the first two books (The Hooker and the Hermit and The Player and the Pixie) but hands down Bryan and Eilish are my favorite couple and this is my favorite in the series (so far!).

What was the last book you read and then immediately re-read because it was so amazingly awesome? Let me know because that is something I definitely want to add to my TBR!
