New York Times bestselling author Emma Chase returns with a sweet and sexy standalone in the Royally Series.

Princess Lenora Celeste Beatrice Arabella Pembrook had an unusual childhood. She was raised to be a Queen—the first Queen of Wessco.

It’s a big deal.

When she’s crowned at just nineteen, the beautiful young monarch is prepared to rule. She’s charming, clever, confident and cunning.

What she isn’t… is married.

It’s her advising council’s first priority. It’s what Parliament is demanding, and what her people want.

Lenora has no desire to tie herself to a man—particularly one who only wants her for her crown. But compromises must be made and royals must do their duty.

Even Queens. Especially them.

**

Years ago, Edward Langdon Richard Dorian Rourke, walked away from his title and country. Now he’s an adventurer—climbing mountains, exploring jungles, going wherever he wants, when he wants—until family devotion brings him home.

And a sacred promise keeps him there.

To Edward, the haughty, guarded little Queen is intriguing, infuriating…and utterly captivating. Wanting her just might drive him mad—or become his greatest adventure.

**

Within the cold, stone walls of the royal palace—mistrust threatens, wills clash, and an undeniable, passionate love will change the future of the monarchy forever.

Every dynasty has a beginning. Every legend starts with a story.

This is theirs.

5 out of 5 stars

What an absolutely epic, beautiful love story. My heart feels so full! I adored every single thing about this, every detail and connection. It was filled with a wonderful mix of humor, emotion, and love, and it was brilliantly executed. Amazing read!

This was such a heartfelt story, I was either smiling from the wonderful humor or trying not to cry from all the amazing moments that take place. I loved learning every single thing about Lenora. I already adored her as the strong, older queen she was in the other books but learning her history, of how she truly became to be was wonderful. Such a sweet girl full of sass who has to take on a very serious role. There was just so much feeling and emotion behind it all, some of it felt absolutely crushing and devastating. But it's these things and moments that form who Lenora is. As for Edward, he was the definition of swoon-worthy. I loved how sexy and confident he was. I loved his devotion to his brother and what he'd do for him. I loved him opening up to Leonora and challenging her and being her champion. Their chemistry was amazing and I loved watching them ignite. Lenora was so inexperienced but watching that playful heat between them build was awesome. I loved those steamy and passionate times.

I loved and adored a beautiful friendship that Lenora formed in her youth and how it played out into adulthood. It just felt so poignant and real. I like how her friendships and bonds form who she is. I loved the parallels of her and her sister to her grandchildren in the other books in the series. I loved the connections and characters that were introduced that play a part of the other books as well. The story is set in the 50's, a totally different time for women and I love how Lenora dealt with issues related to that time period and how she stood up for herself. Her dealing with a group of grumpy old men is priceless. The attention to detail and how the author brought it all together was amazing.

There’s emotion, humor, and a bit of drama. There are heartbreaking moments and entertaining ones. There is passion and heat and so much love. This had everything I could have wanted and so much more. Hands down Emma Chase is a favorite, go-to author for me and this is one of the best things she's ever written. Having read this series in order, I wasn't sure what to expect since I know Lenora as a much older queen. It was an absolute eye opener getting to see her younger self, the things I loved about her in previous stories kick into place and mean even more.

Lenora and Edward have a beautiful, heartfelt love story that's playful and passionate, I couldn't have asked for more. There were just so many precious things that brought this story to life. Absolute perfection!

things-to-note_thumb2

This is pretty much a rambling continuation of my review because I want to say all the things!!!

I had a book hangover for DAYS! It happened over a weekend. My poor husband, I feel like I followed him around the entire time annoying the heck out of him because I didn’t know what to do with myself.

I said I cried… y’all, I was a mess. I’d been crying on and off throughout the story (I get very invested!), but there’s a scene at the end where a character is introduced that is in the other books and I lost my mind. Legit sobbing. I have no idea why. I had to put my Kindle down and walk around to calm down. I was so thankful no one was home.

I have a system for writing reviews. My initial review before editing was three times as long as normal. I was waxing poetic because I was so in love with these characters and the story.

Trust in the author. This is what I told myself when I started reading Royally Yours. Having read the other books and knowing the queen as an older woman, I was afraid I might not be able to accept her as a younger girl. But it’s one of my favorite authors and there’s not one thing she’s written that I haven’t loved so I put my trust in her and dove in. Emma Chase did an amazing job bringing Queen Lenora to life. Learning about her, seeing her humor, and how events and friendships in her life formed who she is as a woman was truly inspiring.

What’s the last book that made you cry? Let me know!
