In the shadows of the night in Caldwell, New York, there's a deadly turf war going on between vampires and their slayers. There exists a secret band of brothers like no other-six vampire warriors, defenders of their race. Yet none of them relishes killing more than Wrath, the leader of The Black Dagger Brotherhood.

The only purebred vampire left on earth, Wrath has a score to settle with the slayers who murdered his parents centuries ago. But, when one of his most trusted fighters is killed-leaving his half-breed daughter unaware of his existence or her fate-Wrath must usher her into the world of the undead-a world of sensuality beyond her wildest dreams.

4 out of 5 stars

I love a good vampire story and this was a great one! Everything was laid out in about the first 25% and I was hooked.

Wrath and Beth are wonderful together. I loved their growing relationship, chemistry, and oh man the heat! They have a serious connection. I like that Beth was strong and held her own. She adapted to her situation easily but I wish the main transition would have been a bit more detailed. Wrath was scary and sexy. Seeing all of his changes and how much he grew had me grinning from ear to ear.

All the characters fascinated me. The Lessers, Mr. X. All the brothers, Butch. I couldn’t get enough. I immediately wanted to know all their stories once they were introduced. I loved all the different vampires in The Black Dagger Brotherhood. They had great comradery and were humorous at times, I enjoyed their ribbing. There were so many different players and I love how they all intersected. I can’t wait for all the stories in the other books.

There was lots of drama and build up but once it go to the actual scene where everything happened, I felt like things were wrapped up to quickly. I would have preferred a bit more detail and have it drawn out a bit more.

This was a fantastic way to kick off a series. So many different story lines forming. I’m really excited where the series is going to go. It was written in multiple POV’s which drew me in and kept me on my toes. I really enjoyed the mounting drama and where everything was going. Fantastic read.
