Book Review: One and Only (Bridesmaids Behaving Badly #1) by Jenny Holiday

This was so incredibly entertaining with fantastic banter! The first book in the Bridesmaids Behaving Badly series was a winner and I can’t wait for more.

Miss Responsibility meets Mr. Reckless

With her bridezilla friend on a DIY project rampage, bridesmaid Jane Denning will do anything to escape - even if it means babysitting the groom's troublemaker brother before the wedding. It should be a piece of cake, except the "cake" is a sarcastic former soldier who is 100% wicked hotness and absolutely off-limits.

Cameron MacKinnon is ready to let loose after returning from his deployment. But first he'll have to sweet talk the ultra-responsible Jane into taking a walk on the wild side. Turns out, riling her up is the best time he's had in years. But what happens when the fun and games start to turn into something real?

5 out of 5 stars

I adored One and Only! I loved everything I got from the funny to the flirty to the sweet. I loved Cam and Jane and this great group of girls that were introduced. It was a truly wonderful read!

I loved Jane and Cam meeting and how challenging he was. They had great dialogue that was engaging and entertaining to read. I am a huge fan of enemy to lover stories filled with a bit of antagonism and verbal banter and these two had it in spades, it was awesome. The story of them coming together was filled with so many great moments as their histories are learned and they open up and share. I loved everything about Cam, seeing who he really was and not who people perceived him to be. I loved Jane and totally got her. I loved watching her really emerge out of her shell and blossom. I could feel the emotion and caring between them, it was very heartfelt.

I thought the first half was pretty fantastic, I was all in absorbing everything and then somehow, the second half was even better. I couldn't read fast enough! I really liked all of Jane’s girlfriends, making me excited about their stories. There was a solid group dynamic between them that I really enjoyed. They all played their roles well, even the bridezilla who I had to shake my head at several times! All the women had distinct personalities and I loved their friendship and bond.

I thought the writing was great. I enjoyed all the descriptions and flow and thought there was a great build to the story. There are personal ups and downs for Cam and Jane, bits of drama mixed in but it’s mostly a lot of fun, a lot of cute, a lot of heat, and a whole lot of awesome! This was an entertaining and sexy read. Loved it!
