From award-winning fanfic phenomenon Sophie Jackson, the third novel in the sexy and emotionally intense blockbuster A Pound of Flesh series.

Life in New York for ex-con Riley Moore is pretty damn good, until a call from his mother shatters the calm: his father has suffered his second heart attack in two years and is in a critical condition. Leaving everything behind, Riley flies home to Michigan for the first time in five years to support his mother and do his best to make amends with his father. He also tries not to think about Lexie Pierce, the only girl he ever truly cared about, and who broke his heart.

When they inevitably meet, memories of their love make Riley yearn to reconnect, despite the pain they both suffered. Though she's wary, and has a secret she’s hidden from him for five years, Lexie has little willpower when it comes to Riley and she agrees. Besides, after all that has gone before, she owes it to both of them to find out if they can love each other again.

Can they both overcome their sorrow and secrets and finally share their life together?

A powerful new voice in modern romance, Sophie Jackson has crafted a passionate love story with unforgettable characters that will stay with you long after you’ve turned the last page.

5 out of 5 stars

This was a beautifully written, heart wrenching, sweet, and loving story about reconnecting, healing, and forgiveness. My heart almost couldn't take it but it was so worth it. Incredible writing. Sophie Jackson once again has blown me away!

Riley and Lexie had this amazing history and I love how the development of as it was all laid out. Everything came to light in such a wonderful fashion, and I hung on every word. They had such a complex relationship, full of so many layers. It really was this remarkable lifetime journey. Them coming back together and reconnecting and how all the details were laid out elicited so many emotions from me. I found Lexie endearing and sweet even though there were times I wanted to hate her and be mad at her. As she and Riley built their relationship, learning to trust one another again, I started to really like Lexie and by the end, I loved her. And Riley, wow. That man is deep and I loved his raw emotion. He had some heart wrenching moments and that were staggering. I spent a good amount of time trying to keep it together and not cry. There was this magical slow burn happening even though there were bits of heat and longing throughout, I love how it all played out.

There were so many tiny little things that happened that made my heart melt. There were so many wonderful secondary characters and I loved getting to see Carter, Kat, Max, and Grace again and meet new ones as well. I am totally curious about Riley's brothers and (fingers crossed) hope there are more stories where they're involved in the future.

This was just a perfectly detailed story, phenomenal writing, with an excellent build. I was captivated the entire time and completely invested. My emotions were all over the placed but I loved every second. My world melted away, my Kindle percentage disappeared, and I was just absorbed into this incredible story. I think it might be my favorite in the series to date. I highly recommend A Measure of Love as well as the rest of the series.
