The first novel in a sexy new series featuring the hockey players of the Brooklyn Bruisers and the women who win their hearts—from the USA Today bestselling author of the Ivy Years series.

In high school they were the perfect couple—until the day Georgia left Leo in the cold...

Hockey player Leo Trevi has spent the last six years trying to do two things: get over the girl who broke his heart, and succeed in the NHL. But on the first day he’s called up to the newly franchised Brooklyn Bruisers, Leo gets checked on both sides, first by the team’s coach—who has a long simmering grudge, and then by the Bruisers’ sexy, icy publicist—his former girlfriend Georgia Worthington.

Saying goodbye to Leo was one of the hardest things Georgia ever had to do—and saying hello again isn’t much easier. Georgia is determined to keep their relationship strictly professional, but when a press conference microphone catches Leo declaring his feelings for her, things get really personal, really fast....

4.5 out of 5 stars

Awesome introduction to the series. Rookie Move was a great read! Entertaining and really sweet.

I really enjoyed Georgia and Leo. I loved the building chemistry between these two have as they reconnect. There was so much longing, sexual tension and anticipation and then kapow! That sexual tension turns explosive. Leo was just so incredibly sweet and loving. He was totally swoon worthy. He sees Georgia and immediately wants her again. Georgia put up a good fight but she couldn't fight her inevitable feelings. I really liked them coming together and their history.

I loved the premise of the story and how it was laid out. I thought there was a really great pace and fantastic build. There was nice development throughout as we learn about their past and watch the characters come together. There are some ups and downs along the way and I was turning the page wanting to know all the details. I felt this was a lighter read, not super in depth, with bits of emotion throughout. There were a lot of entertaining moments as well and I thought there was a really good balance between the two.

I am excited to see where this series will go, a lot of great characters were introduced. I think there was some nice foreshadowing laid out for her best friend and I can't wait to see what will happen. Hard Hitter is up next with O’Doul’s story, can’t wait!

Totally enjoyable read, loved it! I fantastic second chance romance. I’m officially a fan of hockey players! ;-)
