Review: Sparking the Fire (Hot in Chicago #3) by Kate Meader

This was so entertaining and sexy. You’re going to love Wyatt! I couldn’t get enough. I’m sorry to see the series end but it definitely went out with a bang!

Kate Meader’s blazing Hot in Chicago firefighter series has “everything you want in a romance” (RT Book Reviews, Top Pick)! The flames of desire burn out of control in this sexy third novel when ex-lovers unexpectedly reunite for a sizzling affair that will have the director yelling, “Quiet on the set!”
Actor Molly Cade, America’s fallen sweetheart, finally has her shot at a Hollywood comeback with a dramatic new role as a tough-as-nails firefighter that promises to propel her back to the big time and restore her self-respect.

Wyatt Fox, resident daredevil at Engine Co. 6, needs a low-key job to keep him busy while he recovers from his latest rescue stunt. Consulting on a local movie shoot should add just enough spark to his day. Especially when in struts Molly Cade: the woman who worked his heart over good, and then left him in the Windy City dust.

Their story is straight out of a script: irrepressible, spunky heroine meets taciturn, smoldering hero. But these two refuse to be typecast, and when the embers of an old love are stoked, someone is bound to get burned…

5 out of 5 stars

I absolutely loved this story! Molly and Wyatt were such great characters. I adore The Hot in Chicago series so much and since the beginning I've wanted to know about the quiet and gruff man that is Wyatt fox. I loved every single second of it. Excellent story and great conclusion for the series. I am so happy right now!

I loved how the book started, really pulling me in and setting me up for a heck of a ride. There was a nice amount of sexual tension from the start mixed with animosity (which I am a huge fan of) so I loved seeing things grow and build from there. I had so much anticipation for what was to come and I was just excited while reading. I really enjoyed learning about Wyatt's history and how he felt he fit into the Dempsey family. I liked Molly as well, I thought she was such a strong character. I felt like she held herself back a bit at times so it was awesome really seeing her embrace who she was and build herself back up again after some hardships.

The writing was great. I loved the build throughout and the side story that was happening and how it played into Molly and Wyatt's relationship. I adore all the Dempsey's and loved getting the little updates on them. I really enjoyed how they were woven into the book. They're such a great family unit and I love how loving, caring, and accepting they are, and how there they are for one another.

There were so many entertaining parts in this, I found myself chuckling a lot. There was also a ton of sweet and sexy happening as well. Wyatt and Molly had great chemistry! I loved it all. It just ticked all my boxes of everything I enjoy in a story.

I tried not to read this fast but I couldn't help it, it was just so, so good and I couldn't put it down. I love the Dempsey’s so much and I’m going to miss them. They definitely went out with a bang with Wyatt and Molly. Fantastic read!
