Avery has just met her hot upstairs neighbor. He's irresistible. Tattooed. And a virgin.

Nursing student Avery Michaels wants nothing to do with dating—she's perfectly happy single. Privy to too many of her mother's bad decisions and even worse taste in boyfriends, all Avery can handle is a string of uncomplicated hookups whenever the mood strikes.

When she meets smoking hot tattoo artist Bennett, she wants him—for just one night. But he won't accept a no-strings-attached arrangement. He lives by a straight-laced code of values based on his own troubled upbringing.

Bennett sees something special in Avery and he wants more from her. Way more. As Avery wrestles with her emotions for Bennett, danger and tragedy force them to open up to each other. And Avery must face the terrifying realization that she wants more from him, too.

So she needs to make a choice—let Bennett go or finally let him in.

5 out of 5 stars

I thought this book was incredible and was immediately drawn in. Watching Avery and Bennett's relationship evolve was sweet, full of emotion, and had just the right mix of intensity, drama, and heat. They had great chemistry together but it’s a slow attraction that really seems to build.

It was interesting to see how two people from similar backgrounds went in two totally different directions in how they dealt with certain things but then learned from one another, grew, and came together.  With Bennett being a virgin, it really made certain things slow down so they truly had to get to know one another first. It helped build up their relationship which I thought was really good for Avery sake.

Bennett was so sexy, caring, sweet, and protective. Such a great character. I really liked Avery, I thought she was strong and determined. I didn't like all of her choices however but understood them and why she made them. When Avery finally opened up about her past, I thought it was such a beautifully written scene. There was also a scene towards the end where I was completely choked up because it was so moving. Excellent writing that made me cry. That being said, I loved Mrs. Jackson’s character.

There were some seriously hot scenes involved, excellent build without the full act. And let’s just say by the time Avery and Bennett do get there, there was such a build up I thought my Kindle might combust… so yeah, it was hot… but also really heartfelt.

I give this book 5 stars. I really felt connected and was completely immersed. There was great imagery and foreshadowing combined with a solid, well rounded story. Awesome book!
