Book Review: Then Came You by Lisa Kleypas

I am kicking myself for not reading this sooner. I adored Lily, she was a refreshing character. I loved her and Alex butting heads, fighting their feelings, and coming together. It made for a great read!

Then Came You took me on an incredible ride and I loved it! I was captivated from beginning to end by Lily and her independence and fierceness. I loved her and Alex connecting, their banter was great with fun back-and-forth bickering. It had a nice enemies-to-lovers vibe happening, and I couldn't get enough. There was tension and drama and a good amount of heat with a fantastic build, and I enjoyed it all.

I really liked Lily, she had such a zest for life. I felt for her as I learned about her past and why she was making the choices she was. Alex was stoic and seemed cold, but had his reasons for holding back his heart and I hurt for him. I loved how Lily went up against Alex, their sparring was awesome, and I loved how she didn’t back down. These two butted heads, but there was a simmering attraction underneath it all. There were some entertaining scenes mixed in, making this a fun read. There were outside tensions that created drama for Lily, and I liked how she held her secrets close as it all unfolded, and the timing of when those secrets were revealed to Alex. I adored it when they started to soften towards one another and became vulnerable, and the emotion came through.

I loved meeting Derek Craven and was instantly fascinated by him. I liked his relationship with Lily and felt for him as I realized why he held himself back. I loved seeing his demeanor and speech change throughout the story. I'm excited to read his story in Dreaming of You.

I'm really happy I decided to pick this up, and I’m kicking myself for not reading it sooner. It hooked me and had me turning the page!
