Let’s Talk About That Story: October 2017

Let's Talk About That Story: October 2017 | About That Story

Let’s Talk About what’s happening in October shall we? Fall is my FAVORITE season but I don’t feel like we get much of it here in the Houston area. So when a cool front comes in, you can pretty much find me reading outside enjoying 75 degree weather. We’ve had a few really nice days so I have definitely been taking advantage. Thanks to this, I’ve gotten quite a lot of reading in and it’s been blissful. I’ve got a few things to share this month so let’s get to it…

I don’t even know where to begin when it comes to new releases. I might be at the point where I just throw my hands up because there are so many and I’ve pretty much entered the land of book overwhelm not knowing where to start, lol! There are just so many choices! I swear everyone out there thought fall was a great time to get their new books out into the world.

A SEAL's Strength (Military Match) by [Stewart, JM] Bad for Her: A Bad Boys Gone Good Novel by [Barth, Christi] Ride Wild: A Raven Riders Novel by [Kaye, Laura] Bountiful (True North Book 4) by [Bowen, Sarina] Can't Let Go: A Bad Boy Romance (Original Heartbreakers) by [Showalter, Gena]

Ruthless King (The Anti-Heroes Collection Book 1) by [March, Meghan] Show Me the Way: A Fight for Me Stand-Alone Novel by [Jackson, A.L.] Ready for Wild (The Grand Valley Series Book 3) by [Blake, Liora] Done Deal (The Boardroom) by [Aicher, Lynda] Burn for You (Slow Burn Book 1) by [Geissinger, J.T.]

The above are just a few that are releasing this month (or have already released). Obviously this is just a handful and I’m sharing the ones that have really caught my eye. For a few of these, I have shared reviews already (A SEAL’s Strength and Bad For Her) and for a few more, I’ve got reviews coming so stay tuned. And just to throw this out there, Ride Wild and Bountiful blew me away!!!

What did I add to my TBR this past month? A LOT! Check out what’s on my radar

Rocco (Ruin & Revenge, #3) Van (Cold Fury Hockey, #9) Three Sweet Nothings (Blindfold Club, #5) Headmaster (Lessons from the Rack #2)

These books are all a part of a series that I’ve read and am looking forward to continuing on with. I am definitely looking forward to Rocco (hot mafia hugs for the win!) and Van is part of the Cold Fury series which is like book crack for me, so to say I’m excited is an understatement.

Wild Card (North Ridge, #1) Cherish Hard (Hard Play, #1) Retreat (The Getaway Series Book 1) Zero Hour (Wired & Dangerous, #1) Bad Reputation (Bad Boys of Sports, #1)

These five books are the first in a series and I’m looking forward to each and every one. I always prefer to read in order so I’m excited to start from the beginning. Maverick, the second book in the North Ridge series by Karina Halle just released and I grabbed it while it was on sale, that means I need to hurry up and get to Wild Card. When I read the paranormal romance Silver Silence by Nalini Singh I fell in love with her work so I am very much looking forward to reading some of her contemporary romance and I plan on starting with Cherish Hard.

Duke of Desire (Maiden Lane, #12) Beyond Scandal and Desire (Sins for All Seasons, #1)

My new found love of historical romance continues. I found these two books to add and I’ve got Beyond Scandal and Desire scheduled to read.

audio-book-love_thumb2

Audio book love for the win! Listening to an awesome story really makes my day go by faster and certainly makes folding laundry and food prep a lot more entertaining. Here’s what’s up with me this month…

I can’t tell you how thankful I am that my library offers audio books through Overdrive. I find so many awesome things to listen too. I’m currently listening to What You Need by Lorelei James.

I just finished listening to Sustained by Emma Chase. This has got to be one of my favorite stories (and audios ever). Sidebarred was on sale for Kindle (which made the Audible version cheaper) so I grabbed those so I could listen in order. Sustained is book 2 in the Legal Briefs series and Sidebarred is book 3.5. I’ll be listening to Sidebarred soon.

I needed some Kristen Ashley in my life this month so I picked Motorcycle Man to listen to. It’s book 4 in the Dream Man series but it also kicks off the Chaos series. If you haven’t read it (or listened to it), I highly recommend it.

Look at the loveliness I have waiting for me to listen too! Wicked Grind (#1) and Wicked Dirty (#2) by J. Kenner. These are the first two books in the Wicked Nights – Stark World series. I have not read either of these books before and am hoping to do that soon. I am a huge J. Kenner fan so these are high up on my list. If you’ve read my Let’s Talks before, then you know I only listen to audios after I’ve read the book so I need to hurry up and read so I can listen!

My Instagram game is strong! Well, I’m working on it being strong and absolutely loving the platform. If you don’t already follow me, feel free to do so HERE. Here are a few of my favorite shares this month:

Time for the randomness which means anything goes!!! I don’t actually have that much to share this month so it’s not to much rambling…

20 year flowers

My husband and I celebrated our 20 year anniversary. How crazy is that?! He’s cute so he can stay. ;-)

I’ve been shopping. I am not a big shopper and normally wait until it’s to late to find anything in my size that I like so this year I’m making an effort to get it done sooner. I’ve found some really cute stuff. I pretty much live in jeans, shirts, and cardigans during our winter (because it some point it actually does get cold down here) so I am officially prepared.

Speaking of shopping, with the weather changing, my son decided to wear jeans to school one day. Only to discover that none of them fit. Replacing four pairs of jeans at once is a cha-ching type of event. And he needs shoes. Oy. 15 year old boys for the win? lol!

masters hammer and chisel

I enjoy working out and do it every day. I love Beachbody programs! I finished Insanity Max: 30 a while back and then did a week of 21 Day Fix Extreme. Now I’m dong the Chisel program for The Master’s Hammer and Chisel. I had done the whole program months ago and forgot how weight intensive it was. It’s kicking my butt but in a good way…. which I guess is the point. :-)

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my latest Let’s Talk. Feel free to take a look around my blog and check out all the reviews. Don’t forgot you follow me on Facebook, Twitter, Goodreads, Pinterest, and Instagram as well.

Happy October! Take care and happy reading!
