Review: The Coppersmith Farmhouse (Jamison Valley #1) by Devney Perry

This was so wonderful! The perfect blend of animosity, sweet, sexy, and suspense! This was my first book by Devney Perry and it won’t be my last. I can’t wait to read the rest of the books in the Jamison Valley series. :-)

One old farmhouse brought them together. It could also tear them apart.

Gigi has just uprooted her whole world to start a new life. The unexpected gift of a farmhouse in small-town Montana is just what she and her daughter need to escape big-city loneliness. The last thing she needs is attitude from the town’s sheriff, the most perfectly attractive and ruggedly handsome man she’s ever laid eyes on—and a complete jerk.

Jess knows all about women like Gigi. Beautiful. Sexy. Scheming. She’s stolen his sanctuary, the farmhouse that should have been his. But along with a face full of freckles, she’s got a sharp wit and a backbone of steel—something he doesn’t discover until after making a complete fool of himself. If he can earn back her trust and win her heart, he might just find the home he’s always needed.

5 out of 5 stars

I loved this! It was an awesome introduction to the Jamison Valley series. I was excited while reading, I loved the characters, and the underlying element of suspense. I couldn't stop smiling because there were just so many wonderful moments mixed in. Excellent read!

I loved Jess and Gigi (Georgia) meeting, the tension and animosity between them was awesome. I really loved them coming together and seeing how sweet Jess was. He was so alpha and commanding but underneath all that was this amazingly charismatic man and I fell hard for him. I thought Gigi was fantastic too. She was so strong and determined to start a new life for her daughter, I loved how caring she was. I really enjoyed watching her open up to Jess. Together they had such great chemistry and I felt like there were just so many special moments that gave me butterflies… I love that feeling!

It's just a beautiful story filled with wonderful moments as well as emotional ones that’s full of heart and I loved it. Jess and Georgia falling in love pretty much melted me. Throw in a kid and boom! I was done. I loved Rowan. I really like that she was such an integral part and was well written. I swear every scene she had with Jess had me saying “awwwww.” I loved the people in the town and the picturesque scenes the author painted of Jamison Valley. I'm super excited for Silas and Felicity’s story and can't wait to see what will happen with Maisy. I’m totally hooked!

I thought the writing was excellent with great character development. There was a suspense element that was subtly building and I loved the anticipation of finding out all those details, I was invested the entire time. I also loved the time span of the story so we really get to see the characters develop and grow over time. It’s light drama for the most part but that ending was action packed and had me on the edge of my seat.

Simply fantastic! It was a full, solid story and I pretty much blew off an entire day so I could just sit and read and get lost in this world. It was so worth it, I loved every second!
