Book Review: Fight or Flight by Samantha Young

I am so excited for everyone to read this. Fight or Flight was so amazing. I loved all the emotion, passion, and simmering animosity and pretty much inhaled it. As soon as I read it, I knew I had to own the paperback. Fantastic story!

Fight or Flight was a brilliantly executed story that was filled with so much passion and emotion, I honestly couldn't put it down. I was mesmerized by the intriguing and complicated characters. A truly amazing read!

From the second Caleb and Ava met, I was 100% invested. I wanted to know everything about them. It was crazy and intense in the beginning with their hate-lust attraction but it completely drew me in with this antagonistic banter and I wanted to know why they were the way they were. I was so hooked! I am a huge fan of animosity between characters but these two took it to a whole new level.

I love how the story was laid out, there was spectacular character development as we learn about Ava, her past and struggles. Ava was tough, loyal, and in pain and I felt like I experienced it all right along with her. As for Caleb, he was gruff, brusque, and hard. The man has a series edge to him. There are all these small, building moments with vulnerability and openness and the more I learned about him, the more I loved.

I thought the build and pace to the story was amazing and the descriptions were spot on. There was emotion and drama, heat and love. The push and pull Caleb and Ava had between them was tense and hot all rolled into one. In addition, there were truly wonderful secondary characters making the story even richer. I thought it was all really well thought out. Sometimes I'd have to take a deep breath while reading because I was so caught up in everything. And that ending, I was so stressed out waiting for these two to get their HEA. And all the emotion... it was killing me in a fan-freaking-tastic kind of way.

This book honestly consumed me and almost felt like an indulgence. I was so caught up in Caleb and Ava's relationship, hooked on the drama, emotion, and passion. I couldn't get enough. Loved every second! One of my favorite reads of the year!
