Nothing But Trouble (Credence, Colorado #1) by Amy Andrews

For five years, Cecilia Morgan’s entire existence has revolved around playing personal assistant to self-centered former NFL quarterback Wade Carter. But just when she finally gives her notice, his father’s health fails, and Wade whisks her back to his hometown. CC will stay for his dad—for now—even if that means ignoring how sexy her boss is starting to look in his Wranglers.

To say CC’s notice is a bombshell is an insult to bombs. Wade can’t imagine his life without his “left tackle.” She’s the only person who can tell him “no” and strangely, it’s his favorite quality. He’ll do anything to keep her from leaving, even if it means playing dirty and dragging her back to Credence, Colorado, with him.

But now they’re living under the same roof, getting involved in small-town politics, and bickering like an old married couple. Suddenly, five years of fighting is starting to feel a whole lot like foreplay. What’s a quarterback to do when he realizes he might be falling for his “left tackle”? Throw a Hail Mary she’ll never see coming, of course.

5 out of 5 stars

I love when a story really pulls me into its world and makes me feel all the things. That’s exactly what Nothing But Trouble did. I loved everything about this! There is humor, love, and amazing friendships. From Wade and CC, to all the wonderful people in the town, to the super cute animals, I couldn’t get enough.

I loved meeting CC and Wade, I enjoyed their banter and ease with one another. CC is such a feisty woman, I loved her attitude and determination. I adored Wade and loved watching him grow and change. He was so much more than he seemed to be in the beginning and I loved getting to know him. Watching them come together as things change and feelings start to emerge made my heart feel full, it was playful and fun. I felt like a chuckled my way through the majority of this. There were just so many special moments happening. I loved the build to their relationship, learning their histories and them opening up. It was sweet and sexy!

The town and the people... I might love everyone just as much as I love Wade and CC. There were so many entertaining scenes with them. I loved meeting Wade's friends and enjoyed the camaraderie between them, each of the guys is charming and funny. I loved meeting some of the women that were involved and the connections and interactions with the men. Seriously, every guy needs a story, I'd read them all! I was also really intrigued by the predicament the town was in and the plan to fix it. It brought this really interesting element along with a great group of people.

Making this truly great read even more amazing, there was a secondary story happening and oh my goodness it was the sweetest most heartfelt thing ever! I was just beyond thrilled how the author set up sharing it and the different POVs. The writing was fantastic throughout and I thought the story flowed really well. This is an excellent introduction to a new series. I highly recommend it!
