Book Review: Fantastical by Kristen Ashley

This was incredible! Right from the start I was all in and couldn't wait for Cora and Tor to get to their HEA. Fantastical is another extraordinary story in the Fantasyland series!

Cora Goode has woken up in a fairytale world where she can understand what birds are saying, men ride horses and have fluffy feathers in their hats and furniture zigs, zags and whirls in miracles of construction.

The problem is, she thinks she’s in a dream. Without realizing it, Cora does something that starts a centuries-old curse that will sweep the land if she gets captured by the evil Minerva.

At this point, her dream becomes a nightmare.

Luckily, hot guy, fantasyland Noctorno is there to save her from the clutches of Minerva.

Unfortunately, hot guy, fantasyland Noctorno doesn’t like Cora all that much. He has his reasons, but no matter what our Cora does to try to convince him, he won’t be convinced.

Cora needs Tor to keep her safe and guide her through this fantastical world all while she hopes one day to wake up in her not-so-great apartment in her not-so-great life in her world.

The problem is, the more time she spends with the gorgeous warrior Tor, the faster she falls in love with him.

5 out of 5 stars

I can't even begin to tell you how exciting Fantastical was to read! I was swept up in everything! From beginning to end I held my breath and was consumed! I loved Cora and Tor and the epic journey they had that was filled with fun, heat, drama, and action… and a few twists along the way. This was another fantastic story in the Fantasyland series.

Right from the start, I loved Cora and how she stood up for herself. I felt for her and the situation she was thrust into and how she rolled with it and tried to rectify it. She was so sweet with a bubbly and lively personality. Tor was awesome, hello sexy prince! I loved all the looks he gave Cora and the moments he shared with her. These two had a heck of a ride filled with so much feeling and emotion. I loved their back and forth and the building sexual tension. When their passion explodes, it's total fire. There’s action, drama, and a curse, and some entertaining moments as well. I also loved the twist that happened, which I did not see coming. It was thrilling! I loved all the challenges that Cora faced and the friendships she formed. I love everything Tor was willing to do to make sure she was happy. These two had my heart!

This was such extraordinary storytelling. I loved the vibrant descriptions of this spectacular world and the full cast of characters. There is so much depth and I could feel all the emotion and pain, and happiness too. I love the Fantasyland world and how each story is vastly different yet tied together with the mentions of other lands. I really enjoyed how characters from the first two books were brought into this one. I am so incredibly excited for future stories and what's happening with the overall parallel world storyline.

The Fantasyland series is officially a favorite!
