You don’t fall for your brother’s high school sweetheart, your boss’s daughter, or your ex-wife’s best friend. Especially when they’re all the same woman.

Under Brick Callan’s mile-wide chest beats a loyal heart with a few cracks in it. He’s the steadfast, overprotective type. Especially when it comes to the one woman he can never have. It’s a long, complicated history punctuated by fights, friendship, family, and an attraction that strains his iron willpower.

When Remi Ford returns to Mackinac Island in the dead of winter with a secret, Brick makes it his mission to find out what put the shadows in those green eyes. Even if it means breaking down the walls he’s built between them. Even if it means falling for the one girl he’ll never get over.

The free-spirited artist just needs to lay low for a few weeks so she can figure a way out of this nightmare. She’s definitely not staying. Not when the man who broke her teenage heart into splinters keeps showing up at her parents’ dinner table. Remi doesn’t need broody, bearded Brick riding to her rescue…again. Not when it will put them both in danger, costing them much more than their hearts.

Author’s Note: Frenemies-to-lovers. Opposites attract. Slow burn. Girl in danger. Glorious, glorious banter. Fighting as foreplay. Small-town shenanigans. Big, grumpy, pining, overprotective hero. Wild-child, trouble-finding heroine who keeps on pushing the hero’s buttons. Steam Level: Lava. Suspense: Nail-biting. Feels: Big time.

5 out of 5 stars

Forever Never is officially a favorite for 2021! 6 stars! From the amazing characters to the suspense, this was exciting, entertaining, intense, and all kinds of sexy. There was a phenomenal build as everything unfolded. This was a thrilling read that had me on the edge of my seat the entire time.

Remi and Brick were fantastic! They had a brilliant frenemies vibe happening and I loved the tension, animosity, and verbal sparring. Remi was a wild and creative force of nature. She was in a tough spot, helping a friend, and I loved learning everything that was going on with that mystery. Brick was protective and caring. He had such a strong presence about him and I couldn’t get enough. They had a seriously intense push and pull happening and I could feel the angst and need between them. I loved learning their history from when they were young to adulthood. The more I learned, the more questions I had and read with such a sense of urgency because I couldn't wait to find out everything. There were incredibly sweet moments and I could feel that underlying emotion and heartache. Things felt devastating and painful at times and I had to know why. I loved the back and forth between them and I was filled with so much anticipation for them to get together and it was absolutely worth the wait. This story totally consumed me.

Anticipation is everything so when Remi and Brick finally connect after their killer push and pull with such a sensational build and delicious slow burn, it was scorching hot and cold shower inducing. This is the hottest book I've read from this author to date and honestly, probably one of the hottest books I have ever read. I loved the elements that Remi and Brick touched on when it came to the sexy times as well.

I loved the suspense element and the tension and drama that was created. I loved learning those details, pulling me in bit by bit, making me want more. There was a well-rounded cast of characters from Remi’s parents to Brick’s brother, and her sister, plus so many more. There are wonderful, small-town gossipy folks, tight-knit to the core, that made the town seem like a character of its own. I enjoyed the side stories that were happening and all these great relationships that were intertwined. There were so many great moments and scenes, bonds between different characters, and healing taking place, it was exceptional.

This was an extremely well thought out, in-depth and detailed story, filled with so many layers and amazing character development. I loved the dual POVs and getting to see how Remi and Brick each saw themselves and how other people saw them. I loved them breaking down barriers, opening up, and trusting. It was funny, sweet, emotional, passionate, heartbreaking, and real. I love stories like this, that I can get completely lost in and the world around me fades away. An absolutely brilliant read! 6 stars!
