I am officially addicted to the Brutal Birthright series. The characters and world completely fascinate me. I loved Stolen Heir and the story of Miko and Nessa coming together, it was intense and captivating. Be sure to check it out!
Stolen Heir (Brutal Birthright #2) by Sophie Lark
Nessa Griffin leads a lonely life. Compassionate and gentle, she fills no role in her family’s mafia empire. She struggles to prove herself at home and at her highly-competitive ballet corps.
Mikolaj Wilk is the most vicious gangster in Chicago. His adoptive father saved him from the streets of Warsaw, only to die at the hands of the Griffins.
Bent on revenge, Mikolaj abducts Nessa, holding her captive in his mouldering gothic mansion. As he plots the destruction of everything she holds dear, he finds himself fixated on his little ballerina’s newest dance.
Terrified by the growing tension with her kidnapper, Nessa loses herself in a dark fairytale ballet that parallels their increasingly twisted relationship.
Can Nessa find the man inside the beast? Or will this be her last dance?
The Lark Notes:
Ohhh Mikolaj… my secret book boyfriend. He’s dark and moody and he lives in a haunted mansion. I had some real gothic Beauty and the Beast vibes writing this one. Nessa is my little ballerina Belle — smart and creative and kind. The only person who could melt Miko’s frozen heart. – Sophie
“Stolen Heir” is the dark and gothic second act of the “Brutal Birthright” series. It’s a stand-alone Enemies to Lovers Romance, complete with HEA and no cliffhangers. It contains blazing hot bedroom scenes for mature readers only!!!
5 out of 5 stars
Stolen Heir was an addicting, intense, and
exciting read! Miko and Nessa were intriguing
characters with a fantastic slow burn happening and I loved the push and
pull between them as their feelings grew. The world the author created has hooked me with all the drama and different dynamics. I can't wait to read the
next book in the Brutal Birthright series.
I loved Miko, he was intense and harsh and his actions were
not for the faint of heart. I liked learning about his past and how he came to
be in the position he was in. Nessa was sweet and smart, and not to be
underestimated. I love how she handled herself as she became Miko’s captive, I
could feel her emotion and how scared she was but I loved her snark and
rebelliousness. I loved
those moments when they started to see more in each other, how Nessa saw past Miko’s
ruthlessness and he saw the pure beauty and goodness within her. They had a
fantastic growing attraction happening between them that thrilled me. I
loved the build and seeing the changes in both of them, how they're both
fascinated by the other and the simmering sexual tension. There was a nice fire
building between them and I was filled with anticipation for these two to get
together. Those scenes were hot and explosive.
I loved ALL the drama, there was a lot of tension and
twists. I felt it was more drama-filled and intense than book one and I really
liked that extra grit. It
could be gruesome and violent and while details were shared, I didn’t feel it
was overly descriptive. I love the characters and getting more of Nessa’s
sister and the Gallo’s. I liked the introduction of the Russians and where it
all could go. I am all in with this series.
I found this to be an all-consuming story and I loved how
I was instantly lost to the world. I loved
the mix of Miko and Nessa’s dark and light and how they both grew in their own
ways and came together. This was a great read that had me turning the page!
