Book Review: The Proposal by Adriana Locke

I can’t tell you how much fun I had reading this. I was smiling from the beginning, loving it all. This was my first book by Adriana Locke and it certainly won’t be my last. The Proposal was just what I needed!

Breaking News: Rugby’s bad boy marries his best friend’s little sister

If Renn Brewer would’ve asked me to marry him, I would’ve said no.

Why?

One, his reputation precedes him. His name is in the headlines at least once a month. Two, he’s not just my brother’s best friend. They’re teammates. And three, I’m in my self-care era.

Unfortunately, a version of me equates self-care with bad choices.

The cocktail in my hand—similar to the one that got me into this situation—is the prettiest shade of pink. It’s almost the same color as the giant rock on my left hand. And instead of discussing an annulment, I’m considering a 90-day marriage of convenience to the man I accidentally married in Las Vegas.

Renn didn’t propose marriage. But he does deliver a proposal I might be unable to turn down.

4 out of 5 stars

The Proposal was such an entertaining and sexy story! It was light and fun and full of steam and passion. I had a great time reading it and getting lost in Renn and Blakely’s lives. I loved their flirting and chemistry and the bond of friendship they've created over the years. I loved them waking up married in Vegas and the conflicts it created, keeping me invested. This was a great read!

I really liked Blakely and Renn. I liked learning about their history together and how long they've had their eye on one another. They brought flirting to a whole new level and I loved how they pushed boundaries, the sexual tension was high. I loved them waking up married, it was exciting and highly amusing because chaos ensued thanks to various conflicts creating mild drama. I loved the proposal from Renn and how their attraction and connection grew even more because of the situation. I loved them being honest and vulnerable with each other bringing out the emotion. The heat between them was smoking hot. There was spice for sure but it also had a lot of sweet and heartfelt moments woven in that I loved.

I loved Blakely’s friendship with her best friend Ella and learning about Ella's relationship with Blakely’s brother Brock, there was an enjoyable side story happening there. I liked Renn’s mom and all of Renn’s siblings and the bonds they have. I was totally infatuated with Renn’s bodyguard Fox and I need to know more about him, he was very intriguing.

This story was a quick easy read that was witty, sexy, and totally entertaining. I listened to the audiobook and really enjoyed both the narrators. This was my first time reading this author and it won’t be my last, I look forward to the rest of the Brewer Family series.
