Let's Talk About That Story: June 2017 | About That Story

It’s June already? And by that I mean we’re already half way through the month! How on earth did that happen? I feel like school was just getting out and now time is already flying by. Here’s something exciting that’s happening this month – today actually! June 17th! It’s my 4 year blogiversary. FOUR YEARS!!!! Crazy right? Find out more on that at the end of the post. ;-)

Now, let’s get to the good stuff in this months newest Let’s Talk About That Story

June has been awesome. A ton of new releases and I’m working my way through them. There are just so many, it can be hard to keep up. Here are just a few that were released in June…

The Rancher and the City Girl by Joya Ryan [Review]

Lyric and Lingerie (Fort Worth Wranglers #1) Comeback Cowboy (Rocky Mountain Riders, #2) Mister Hockey (Hellions Angels, #1) Axel (Corps Security, #1) Long For Me (Luminous #3)

Ready to Run (I Do, I Don't) Semper Fi Cowboy (Lone Star Leathernecks #1) The Coppersmith Farmhouse (Jamison Valley, #1) Slave to Sensation (Psy-Changeling #1) Hungry Like the Wolf (SWAT, #1)

Cowboys. Hockey players. Wolf shifters. Oh my! I am pretty much covering the gambit with tropes in this months on my radar. I actually bought Axel in a box set a year or so ago but kind of forgot about it so I am moving it up my list. Also, I am super excited about The Coppersmith Farm House. I have seen fabulous reviews about this book and it’s been mentioned that it’s similar to old school Kristen Ashley so I’m all in. Some of these books have been out for a while but that’s okay because they’re new to me. Like Slave to Sensation, it’s the first book in the Psy-Changeling series and after reading the first book in the spin-off, I feel like I need to back track some. So, there you have it. What’s been added to my TBR since my last Let’s Talk About post in May.

Just click on the photo and it will take you to Goodreads to add the book to your TBR.

There will be a lot of reviews posted in the coming months and I’m excited to share. Well, a lot of reviews coming soon for me at least seeing as I’m a one woman show and all, lol! Here’s what you have to look forward to…

Wicked Favor: The Wicked Horse Vegas by [Bennett, Sawyer] Irresistible You (The Chicago Rebels Series Book 1) by [Meader, Kate] Bound to Submit (Blasphemy) by [Kaye, Laura]

Wicked Favor by Sawyer Bennett – Holy heck! Sawyer Bennett kicks off this spin-off series with a bang!

All I Am: Drew's Story by Jodi Ellen Malpas – Drew! *sign* Such a great read!

Luca by Sarah Castille – Sexy mob guys for the win. I love this series!

Irresistible You by Kate Meader – Hockey player with a Cajun accent? Yes, please!

Trouble Walks In by Sara Humphreys – This one sat on my Kindle for way to long, I’m glad I finally got it it. Totally enjoyed it.

Bound to Submit by Laura Kaye – Laura Kaye knows how to bring the heat!

Garrett by Sawyer Bennett – Book two in the Cold Fury series was so emotional, I had a serious book hangover. I am slowly but surely going to work my way through this entire series. I love Sawyer Bennett!

My audio book love is growing. I pretty much want to buy every book I’ve read and loved so I can relive the story. Thank goodness my library has so many available.

I’m working my way through the Rock Chick series – I freaking LOVE this series!!!! I’ve read all but the very last book, Rock Chick Revolution, so I am rereading them via audio so I can be prepared to dive into Ally’s story. After that I’ll get to Rock Chick Reawakening.

My current listen is The One Real Thing. I snagged this one from the library. I was on that wait list for-ev-er so I was thrilled when I finally got the notification that it was available.

Be prepared, I am extremely random with my randomness today….

The Master's Hammer and Chisel™

I’m getting new workouts! Yay!!! Never thought I’d say that in my life but here I am super excited about getting my sweat on. Beachbody had a sale a week ago so I grabbed The Master’s Hammer and Chisel and Insanity Max: 30. I’ve been religiously doing the 21 Day Fix Extreme workouts but after a year, I am desperate to mix it up. I am not a Beachbody coach, just a big fan of their workouts and the 21 Day Fix eating plan, which is basically just clean eating. Now I just need to talk my husband in to getting a workout bench. :-)

My Instant Pot makes the best brown rice ever! I’ve always used a rice cooker for white rice but the brown rice never had the same results in it. I mention it because I switched completely over to brown rice with the clean eating. Here’s the recipe I use: Instant Pot Brown Rice. My rice cooker is pretty much obsolete now since I use it for white rice as well. My husband and son still prefer that so sometimes I humor them and make it. Here’s that recipe: Pressure Cooker White Rice.

Fun fact: last year I completely forgot about my 3 year blogivesary. Not this year though. Go me!

The outside plants are still alive and there are actual lemons on the lemon tree. My husband keeps telling me I’m over watering it but it is still alive. That’s all that matters. Score for me! If this is your first time here and have no idea what I’m talking about, feel free to check out previous posts from my Let’s Talk About That Story feature to catch up.

I suck at social media. Sad but true fact. So if you happen to follow me on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram, you will never be bombarded with stuff. I don’t mean to suck but every time I think about it, I realized most of my posts would be “I’m cleaning the toilet” or “I hate to vacuum.” Of course there are my favorites of, “Doing laundry. Again.” or “Errands today. HEB here I come.” lol! So basically I post about book stuff, my latest reviews, what I’m reading, if I come across a sale, etc. I’m just saying, I’d love to have you follow me so we can connect but I’m pretty low key. :-)

I’m living in the land of book overwhelmed. Not necessarily because of obligations but because there are just so many books I want to read or series' I want to start and since there are a gazillion to choose from, I don’t know where to start. I’m trying to go by what my mood is but I over think it and then… book overwhelm. My lovely friend Bex is normally my sounding board and talking me off a book ledge. The lady deserves a medal for putting up with rambling text and holding my hand. She is amazeballs! And, my wonderful friend has a fantabulous blog you can check out: Night Owl Reader Romance Book Blog. So, stop on by and say hello!

Now to the Blogiversary stuff…

Thank you for a wonderful 4 years here at About That Story. For each and every comment here on my blog and for all the ones on Twitter and Facebook. I love to read – I do – to get lost in a story, but one of the reasons I blog, is for the interactions I have with others. Like minds that get me. Get what it’s like to have the world around you disappear when you are so into a story. People I can battle it out with over who the best book boyfriend is. Who get way to excited about a sexy book cover and have no problem drooling all over it. You are my people!!! I have found my tribe. So thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the love and support I have received, friendships I have made, and relationships that have come to be. You all are THE BEST!

What’s a blogiversary without a giveaway? I’m giving away ONE of the Kindle ebooks pictured above and a $5 Amazon Gift Card. These six books have been favorites for me so far this year and I wanted to share the book love. Open internationally. Giveaway ends July 1, 2017 at 12:00am. Enter on the Rafflecopter below.
