Let’s Talk About That Story: July 2017

Let’s Talk About the fact that July is almost over and I have no desire to be on the computer, lol! Blogger problems, right? I blame my youngest and the fact that he’s enjoying his summer vacation 100% just lazing around doing whatever. It kind of makes me want to just sit and read and join him in the effort to do a whole lot of nothing. So, I’ve been doing just that and it’s been blissful. Soon school will start and we will be back to our regular schedule. Until then, here’s a short and sweet Let’s Talk. ;-)

    

    

    

July was FULL of new releases and I just could not keep up… there’s actually a few more coming next week that I have my eye on. I’m sharing a few that previously caught my eye and I plan to read. Be sure to check out the reviews for Jilted by Sawyer Bennett, Mister Hockey by Lia Riley, Kiss My Boots by Harper Sloan, and The Queen of Dauphine Street by Thea De Salle.

   

   

I had to add Midnight Crossroads by Charlaine Harris to my TBR. I loved the Sookie Stackhouse series and the True Blood show so there is no way I’m missing this. I want to read it before we start watching the show, Midnight, Texas on NBC (thank goodness for the DVR since I won’t be able to start any time soon).

Mister Hockey was my first book by Lia Riley and after devouring it, I decided I needed more of this author in my life… so I immediately added It Happened on Love Street. I have the first two books in the Grand Valley series ready and waiting for me so I figured I’d add Ready for Wild by Liora Blake too.

The Flirtation by Tara Sue Me and About That Kiss by Jill Shalvis were instant adds. Resurrection by Katie Reus totally caught my eye and I found Wild Card by Lora Leigh over at Heroes and Heartbreakers, it was part of their free book a month club. I also added Sacked by Jen Fredericks because it looks like an awesome sports romance. Now to make the time for these books that are on my radar.

My audio book love (or addiction!) is growing. I’m still laughing at myself because I remember saying once upon a time, “I’ll never listen to an audio book.” Oh how times have changed! lol!

I finished Rock Chick Renegade by Kristen Ashley. I am making my way through the entire series so I can read the final book and then Daisy’s story. [My review]

The Hating Game by Sally Thorne FINALLY became available from the library and I was thrilled to be able to relive the story. It’s one of my FAVORITE reads this year. I was so caught up in it all. It was perfection!!! [My review]

I am listening to The Angels’ Share by J. R. Ward right now to prep myself for the third and final book in the trilogy, Devil’s Cut which releases on August 1st. This is such a fantastic series full of twists and turns. I am completely hooked! I have to say, it’s been killer waiting between books so I am slightly jealous of those who can now marathon read all three in a row. [My review]

A big thank you to everyone for all the congratulations on my 4 year blogiversary last month. I am so very grateful for the support.

The 4th of July came and went. It’s my least favorite holiday because of the fireworks. They’re super expensive and they scare the dog. My husband and youngest love it though and spend a ridiculous amount of money on fireworks and blow stuff up. I pretty much hang out inside with Daisy the Wonder Dog.

It’s hot. I could get all ranty about Texas weather but I’ll save you from my babbling. Let’s just say that the air conditioner is my friend and I don’t go outside until I have to. IT’S HOT.

This month I got a workout bench and awesome new weights. We’re all fancy schmancy with the Bowflex weights. Yes, they’re expensive but a solid investment. Now that I have both the bench and the weights I’m having a love-hate relationship with them. I love them but I’m in a constant state of sore thanks to those fancy weights since I’m using them while doing The Master’s Hammer and Chisel.

My desk is a mess. Well, a mess for me. I am pretty organized normally but my books are piling up and I need to get them put away. I also need to do a thorough cleaning… I see 409 in my future. A slice of life is featured this months Let’s Talk graphic… my office. :-)

I realized school starts two weeks earlier this year. I am so not on the ball. In my future I have school supplies to pick up as well as clothes and shoes for my son. Every time I take him shopping for shoes, he goes up a size… this kid is going to be tall!!!

I had pulled back from signing up for tours over the summer just because I knew my schedule would be off. With August around the corner, look for more excerpts, new releases, and cover reveals since I plan on getting back into the swing of things.
