Mister Hockey

Mister Hockey (Hellions Angels #1) by Lia Riley

Her biggest fantasy is about to become a reality. . .

Jed West is Mr. Hockey. The captain of the NHL’s latest winning team, the Denver Hellions–and the hottest player on the ice—at least according to every magazine. .and Breezy Angel. Breezy has been drooling over Jed at games for years, and he plays a starring role in her most toe-curling fantasies. But dirty dreams don’t come true, right?

Then Jed saunters through the doors of her library, a last minute special guest for a summer reading event, and not only is he drop dead gorgeous up close, his personality is straight up swoon-worthy. He even comes to the rescue when she has an R-rated “Super Book Worm” costume malfunction. But when he mistakenly assumes she’s more into books than pucks, she’s too flustered to correct his mistake. And then comes a big kiss, followed by a teensy-tiny problem. Jed’s dating policy is simple: Never date a fan.

So what’s a fangirl going to have to do to convince her ultimate crush that he’s become less of a perfect fantasy, and more like the perfect man. . .for her?

4 out of 5 stars

This was so entertaining and refreshing! I love it when a book unexpectedly make me laugh. I had so much fun reading this. I feel like I found a gem!

Mister Hockey was just pure fun with great humor. I thought Jed and Breezy were extremely likable characters. They had such a hilarious first meeting and they kept going strong from there. Jed and Breezy were so sweet end genuine and I loved their banter. I thought they had great chemistry and were flirty and fun together, I loved their playfulness. I loved the build of them coming together.

There are some things they're both dealing with, him a hockey injury and her some self esteem issues and I like how they were addressed and how it played out in the story. This was an easy read with a bit of drama and some emotion mixed in but the big take away is that it was highly entertaining. I loved the building heat and the sexy times. The writing was really good. This was a fast paced read with really good details and descriptions, not overly in depth but enough that was totally hooked. There were a few transition issues in the front half for me but after that it was smooth sailing.

This story was seriously a winner! It was just one of those stories that was outright fun to read and I kept giggling throughout. It wasn't sports heavy at all but him being a hockey player definitely plays into things. I love the set up for the next story, Head Coach. Great way to kick off a new series!
