Book Review: The Viscount Who Loved Me by Julia Quinn

This was my first read of the new year and it was a heck of a way to kick of 2021! I loved Kate and Anthony and this perfect, antagonistic banter they had. It was playful and fun and I loved watching everything between them unfold. Check out my full review below. :-)

5 out of 5 stars

I absolutely loved this! It was incredibly entertaining with hilariously witty and challenging banter, I loved the verbal sparring between Anthony and Kate! Their back and forth was perfection.

I loved Kate so much. She knows who she is and puts it all out there and speaks her mind, it was awesome. I love how protective she is of her sister and the bond she had with her stepmother. I loved Anthony and his no-nonsense attitude when he decided to take a wife. How he thinks he's going to keep his feelings in check… because that's where the excitement begins. I loved him and Kate meeting and the antagonism between them. Their wordplay was funny and cutting and smart. This was an excellent enemies to lover’s story. They played off each other and it had an exciting flow. Underneath it all, as they get to know each other and feelings start to grow, you could feel it change and become more. It was extremely well done. I loved everything leading up to the two of them connecting. When they unleash their passion - oh my - these two were hot!

This story was so well thought out and I loved the build to it all. It was filled with so many amazing moments. I loved that openness and growth when Kate and Anthony start to share. There was so much emotion and vulnerability. There were so many humorous scenes as well, they made me laugh out loud and smile. There was a wonderful cast of characters mixed in that I adored. Lady Whistledown is so marvelous with her humor and wit, once again I found her a delight.

I truly enjoy this world Julia Quinn has created. All the people, the details, the descriptions of the surrounding, and clothing in the time period, it's excellent and I can picture it all in my head. This was an expectational addition and I'm already excited for the next book. The Viscount Who Loved Me was such a gratifying and fun read, I was smiling and laughing my way through it and I couldn't get enough.
