I am late to the game reading The Happy Ever After Playlist and am kicking myself for not starting sooner. I loved everything about Jason and Sloan and this incredible journey they were on. I loved the heart, humor, and all the healing. This was an exceptional read that's not to be missed!
The Happy Ever After Playlist (The Friend Zone #2) by Abby Jimenez
Two years after losing her fiancé, Sloan Monroe still can't seem to get her life back on track. But one trouble-making pup with a "take me home" look in his eyes is about to change everything. With her new pet by her side, Sloan finally starts to feel more like herself. Then, after weeks of unanswered texts, Tucker's owner reaches out. He's a musician on tour in Australia. And bottom line: He wants Tucker back.
Well, Sloan's not about to give up her dog without a fight. But what if this Jason guy really loves Tucker? As their flirty texts turn into long calls, Sloan can't deny a connection. Jason is hot and nice and funny. There's no telling what could happen when they meet in person. The question is: With his music career on the rise, how long will Jason really stick around? And is it possible for Sloan to survive another heartbreak?
5 out of 5 stars
The Happy Ever After Playlist was an
exceptional story. It was incredibly entertaining and charming with the
best characters. I laughed and cried, and yelled and cheered as Jason and Sloan
found their way to happy. This is a new favorite!
The story starts fun and light but with some serious
undertones and I felt so much for Sloan and was immediately pulled into her
pain. She was such an amazing person in a hard place. I instantly fell in love
with Jason. He's so incredibly sweet and charming. I loved Sloan opening up bit
by bit and moving forward. I loved their easy conversations and flirting. The
more I read, the more I fell in love with both of them. I loved the build of
their relationship and the openness between them. I also adored everything
having to do with Jason’s dog Tucker, he was a great addition.
I love how the author built up the details of the
story and the overall timeline that everything takes place. As the story
evolved, so did the emotion and drama as well as some heartbreaking and
crushing moments. I could feel that building tension and anguish. There were
moments that gutted me and I held my breath waiting for Sloan and Jason to work
it out. Things aren’t always as they seem and I couldn’t wait for all the
details to unfold.
I loved seeing Kristen and Josh and adored the updates on
them and their family. Kristen is such a force and I enjoyed what she brought
to the story. I loved the secondary character involved and the humor they
brought as well as a lot of heart. I was thrilled to meet Adrian, the hero for the next story, making me super
excited to read Life’s Too Short. The final chapter and epilogue were
fantastic as well, it was such an awesome conclusion.
This was really incredible storytelling. It was engaging and inviting. I felt the agony and heartbreak, the love and
building passion. I loved all the healing Sloan went through and I loved Jason
and his big heart. This was a beautiful story, totally entertaining and
heartfelt.
