Book Review: Rough Ride (Chaos #4.5) by Kristen Ashley

I can't believe it took me so long to read this book. It was so fantastic. I loved Snapper and Rosalie and watching them come together. This was an excellent addition to the Chaos series. :-)

Rosalie Holloway put it all on the line for the Chaos Motorcycle Club.

Informing to Chaos on their rival club—her man’s club, Bounty—Rosalie knows the stakes. And she pays them when her man, who she was hoping to scare straight, finds out she’s betrayed him and he delivers her to his brothers to mete out their form of justice.

But really, Rosie has long been denying that, as she drifted away from her Bounty, she’s been falling in love with Everett “Snapper” Kavanagh, a Chaos brother. Snap is the biker-boy-next door with the snowy blue eyes, quiet confidence and sweet disposition who was supposed to keep her safe... and fell down on that job.

For Snapper, it’s always been Rosalie, from the first time he saw her at the Chaos Compound. He’s just been waiting for a clear shot. But he didn’t want to get it after his Rosie was left bleeding, beat down and broken by Bounty on a cement warehouse floor.

With Rosalie a casualty of an ongoing war, Snapper has to guide her to trust him, take a shot with him, build a them...

And fold his woman firmly in the family that is Chaos.

Note: Every 1001 Dark Nights novella is a standalone story. For new readers, it’s an introduction to an author’s world. And for fans, it’s a bonus book in the author’s series. We hope you'll enjoy each one as much as we do.

5 out of 5 stars

Oh my gosh! This book! The first words pulled me in and I was hooked. I felt like I was holding my breath while reading. This was an intense, emotional, and beautiful story set in the Chaos world that’s not to be missed.

I loved learning everything about Rosalie and Snapper and watching them come together. I loved learning Snappers history, he's a good solid guy who knows himself and he wanted a place where people would accept him, just like his family does. I loved Rosalie and her quiet determination and strength. I loved her moving forward and healing. If anyone deserved a HEA it was Rosalie and it was a long time coming. I loved the attraction between Snapper and Rosalie and the pull they had. I adored the care Snapper took and how he was trying to make amends. I loved them opening up, their declarations, and heartfelt moments. There were so many emotions and sweet scenes, it totally gave me butterflies.

This had a great flow and excellent details. I could feel the pain, emotion, and determination. I loved Chaos bringing Rosalie into the fold, right where she belonged, and her moments with some of my favorite characters. I really liked how the ongoing story for the series was incorporated as well. There were moments in this that reminded me of High and Millie's flashbacks in Walk Through Fire, about the change that's coming for the next generation and I loved that element. I also loved a certain something good for Big Petey, this man has been a solid, lovable rock since I first met him, so I am thrilled he's going to some happiness of his own.

This is one of my absolute favorite series and I love what Rough Ride added and gave a bit more light to two characters that I was curious about. This is the story I didn't know I wanted. An addicting read that was intense and sweet all rolled into one and I loved every second.

I love the side stories created for the Chaos series and getting more details on specific characters. Do you like smaller stories or novellas in a series? Let me know!
