Right from the start I was pulled in and loved learning everything about Penelope and Colin. Romancing Mister Bridgerton was a fantastic addition to the series and I devoured it!
Romancing Mister Bridgerton (Bridgertons #4) by Julia Quinn
Everyone knows that Colin Bridgerton is the most charming man in London . . .
Penelope Featherington has secretly adored her best friend's brother for . . . well, it feels like forever. After half a lifetime of watching Colin Bridgerton from afar, she thinks she knows everything about him, until she stumbles across his deepest secret . . . and fears she doesn't know him at all.
Colin Bridgerton is tired of being thought of as nothing but an empty-headed charmer, tired of the notorious gossip columnist Lady Whistledown, who can't seem to publish an edition without mentioning him. But when Colin returns to London from a trip abroad, he discovers nothing in his life is quite the same—especially Penelope Featherington! The girl who was always simply there is suddenly the girl haunting his dreams. When he discovers that Penelope has secrets of her own, this elusive bachelor must decide . . . is she his biggest threat— or his promise of a happy ending?
5 out of 5 stars
Romancing Mister Bridgerton was so incredibly
witty and entertaining with the best characters. Colin and Penelope had a
fantastic story. From the moment they met to their happily ever after I was
totally invested.
I loved learning about Penelope and watching her really grow
and come out of her shell. She was so clever, fun, and charming and had great, dry humor. I loved learning all her secrets (and there was a super big one that
I'm sure most people know by now). I loved getting to that moment when it was
all discovered. I was thrilled! I loved Colin and really get to see the man
behind the smile, he was so much more than people thought he was. I loved
learning the ins and outs of their friendship over the years, about Penelope’s unrequited
love, and I adored that moment when true feelings come into play.
I loved all the characters involved so much. I always adore
the Bridgerton siblings and their conversations and antics together. I really
liked seeing more of Hyacinth and loved the setup for Eloise's story. What I
really enjoyed about this book was the presence of Lady Danbury. She's a
spitfire and I love her brash and bold self. I loved the friendship that she
and Penelope formed and getting glimpses into Lady Danbury’s life, I thought it
was brilliant.
This was just so exciting and fun to read. I loved
the development and was pulled into the storytelling and loved the dual POVs.
The descriptions were great and the flow was awesome. I loved the bits of drama,
emotion, and angst. This story is the definition of entertaining. I loved it!
