The Bonus was such great entertainment! I felt like I was on a wild ride with these characters. It was fun and drama-filled and I had a hard time putting it down. And bonus, it's officially live today! (See what I did there?!)
The Bonus by T L Swan
Grace Porter has the perfect job, great pay, a beautiful office, everything she ever dreamed of, if not for one small detail.
She's utterly and hopelessly in love with her boss.
Gabriel Ferrara is tall and handsome, and most days she wants to stab her eyes out with a pencil, anything to stop her seeing his perfection.
How any female could work in these conditions and not be completely besotted with him is beyond her.
Then he opens his mouth and she remembers why.
He's bossy and sarcastic, with a wit so sharp it could cut glass.
Every weekend is the same . . . while he's off living his dream life, she's counting down the days until Monday when she sees him again.
But enough is enough.
Grace is tired of organising his glamorous and exciting life, instead of living her own.
Determined to find true happiness, she hands in her resignation.
Furious, he won't accept it, and rages like never before.
Desperate to keep her, he offers her a Bonus . . . one she never saw coming.
Finally . . .
It's Grace's turn to be the boss.
Authors note. . . . Includes exclusive ebook Bonus scenes from Gabriel Ferrara.
4 out of 5 stars
The entertainment value for The Bonus was high!
The characters were a bit over the top in the best way and they fascinated me, I ended up
flying through it. There's drama, angst, and surprises along the way, and I
ate it up. It was enjoyable escapism!
Gabriel and Grace were something else. I went back and forth
between liking and disliking them because he was a jerk and she had her
moments too but I loved learning what was underneath. I liked their attraction in
the beginning and things heated up fast. Hello hotness! Then there’s drama, a major time-lapse, and a lot happening in a short amount of time. I was like, wait? What's
happening? But I kept right on reading because I had to know how these two
would get together. It was fast-paced and exciting.
I liked how things unfolded. I also liked learning about Grace
being hopelessly in love with Gabriel and his feelings for her. He had man-sized
temper tantrums yet he's sweet in his own domineering way. Her self-deprecating
internal dialogue was rather humorous and I enjoyed those lighter moments. Both
Gabriel and Grace could be ridiculously argumentative and it was a bit much at
times but somehow it worked with how the story was set up. I liked that Gabriel
had a care when he needed to and listened to Grace when it was about important things. His heart grows for sure and I loved that.
There is of course drama – so much drama! And it just kept
coming. It could be crazy at times but it kept the story moving along and had
me hooked. It was everything all together and the entertainment the story
provided that made this work for me. I desperately needed these two to get their HEA. It
made for an incredibly fun read!
