Laura Kaye writes such wonderful, well developed stories with strong heroines that I can’t get enough of. I am thrilled that her newest series, Warrior Fight Club, is finally here for all to enjoy. Fighting for Everything was amazing and did not disappoint!
Fighting for Everything (Warrior Fight Club #1) by Laura Kaye
Loving her is the biggest fight of his life…
Home from the Marines, Noah Cortez has a secret he doesn’t want his oldest friend, Kristina Moore, to know. It kills him to push her away, especially when he’s noticing just how sexy and confident she’s become in his absence. But, angry and full of fight, he’s not the same man anymore either. Which is why Warrior Fight Club sounds so good.
Kristina loves teaching, but she wants more out of life. She wants Noah—the boy she’s crushed on and waited for. Except Noah is all man now—in ways both oh so good and troubling, too. Still, she wants who he’s become—every war-hardened inch. And when they finally stop fighting their attraction, it’s everything Kristina never dared hope for.
But Noah is secretly spiraling, and when he lashes out, it threatens what he and Kristina have found. The brotherhood of the fight club helps him confront his demons, but only Noah can convince the woman he loves that he’s finally ready to fight for everything.
5 out of 5 stars
Fighting for Everything was such an emotional and heartfelt ride. I was immediately invested in the characters from the beginning and couldn't wait for them to get their HEA. Such a wonderful story!
These characters really got to me. Noah was complicated, in pain and turmoil, he had so many struggles and everyday battles. From the get go I was rooting for him, wanting him to be okay, to get better. Kristina was so sweet and caring, I loved her perseverance. They had an amazing friendship and I loved learning their history. They have a wonderful ease with each other, it’s playful and sweet but also strained. I really enjoyed Noah's journey to heal and find a new life to live. I adored Kristina and how determined she was. I also love her sticking to her guns and doing what was right for her. There was just so much passion between the two, a want and need I couldn’t get enough of.
There are a lot of ups and downs for Noah and Kristina, it could be intense! There's a lot of emotion mixed in with their passion. Sometimes I wanted to be mad at Noah but I got him and could feel his pain. I could feel that turmoil! If anything I was just waiting for that moment when he pulled it together and started fighting for more. The wait was so worth it!
I thought the writing was excellent and I loved the premise of the story. It flowed so well and I was caught up in everything. It was such a great balance between the emotion, the sweet and playfulness and sexier times. It gave me just what I needed at just the right time. I also really liked the cast of characters that was introduced and all the possibilities that could come from the series. I’m excited for more!
It was just a truly fantastic story. I loved every little detail, the raw emotion and vulnerability and this love between the two characters. This was an amazing friends to lovers romance with so much healing and hope! A must read for sure.
