Book Review: Lies and Lullabies (Hush Note #1) by Sarina Bowen

One Band. Three authors. Three standalone love stories. Lies and Lullabies kicks of the Hush note series and it was a great series starter. I loved Jonas and Kira's story and all the ups and downs of them coming together. Get ready for a wonderful story with a good mix of drama, emotion, and passion.

Summer nights and star-crossed lovers! From USA Today bestselling author Sarina Bowen.

Once upon a time, he gave me a summer of friendship, followed by one perfect night. We shared a lot during our short time together. But he skipped a few crucial details.

I didn’t know he was a rock star.

I didn’t know his real name.

Neither of us knew I’d get pregnant.

And I sure never expected to see him again.

Five years later, his tour bus pulls up in Nest Lake, Maine. My little world is about to be shattered by loud music and the pounding of my own foolish heart.

4 out of 5 stars

Lies and Lullabies was a really great, entertaining story. I loved learning everything about Jonas and Kira from how they met to how they reconnected. I was filled with so much anticipation waiting for Jonas to learn about his daughter. It was tense and a bit emotional and loved how it all played out. I thought this was a wonderful second chance romance.

This was so fun to read. I was caught up in everything and was excited to find out what would happen next. I liked Kira a lot even though I didn't like all of her choices at times, but I understood her why's. She was such a hard worker and wanted to give her daughter the best life. I liked her relationship with her brother and the bond they had. I loved Jonas and how sweet he was and where he was at in life. I loved learning their history and the development of those details. I liked meeting Quinn and Nix and I'm super excited for Nixon's story.

The writing was really good and I enjoyed the flow of the POVs. I liked the mild drama and bits of angst. I loved the sweet and entertaining moments and hot ones too. I enjoyed the side stories happening as well and how there seemed to be some closure found. It wasn’t super in-depth but gave me just enough to keep the story moving along and me excited for Jonas and Kira to get together.

I really enjoyed this and it was an awesome way to kick off a new series. This was a wonderful story with a good mix of drama, emotion, and passion.
