Into the Fading Twilight blew me away! I loved the emotion and intensity as Nova and Kol found their way to a well-deserved HEA. The second book in the Starlight Grove series had me on the edge of my seat!

synopsis_thumb2_thumb
She’s known nothing but darkness for 413 days…but he’ll burn down the world to save her.

After a year in captivity, Nova Monroe is back in Starlight Grove—but she’s not the same woman who vanished. She lives on the edge, chases adrenaline, and refuses to be caged again. Cliff diving. Mountain biking. Anything to feel alive and outrun the memories clawing at her.

But the single dad with shadows of his own won’t let her face it alone. Especially when she finds herself needing a place to stay.

Kol Archer has made it his mission to protect her. As a Forest Service investigator, he’s no stranger to rugged terrain or battling for control. But nothing prepared him for Nova—her fire, her fight, the way she makes him feel something he thought was lost.

The closer they get, the more dangerous things become. Someone doesn’t want Nova to move on. And Kol is determined to stop them—no matter the cost.

Because for the first time in forever, Nova’s not just surviving. She’s learning how to live, how to trust, and reminding Kol he can, too. But as darkness looms, the truth could destroy them both…

5 out of 5 stars

Into the Fading Twilight was pure gold. I loved the intensity and emotion as Kol and Nova fell in love and Nova healed from her past and learned to trust again. It was poignant and real, and filled with so much heart and love. There was also a good mix of entertaining moments that had me smiling. This was an exceptional story, with an outstanding build and details as the suspense unfolded. It had me guessing until the very end!

Nova and Kol were fantastic characters. I loved Nova’s strength and how she fought her way back to a new version of herself after so much turmoil. I loved how Kol was there for her, lifting her up and caring for her. I loved him fighting his feelings because of their history. They both experienced a lot of growth and healing, and there were times it had me choking up. Their relationship had a beautiful slow burn happening as barriers were broken down, and when they finally came together, it was well-timed and passionate. I also loved the relationship that Nova was forming with Kol’s sweet daughter Sky, those moments melted me.

I loved the hints of danger throughout and was on the edge of my seat as new information was learned. It all built to an action-packed ending that had me holding my breath. I liked learning more about Nova and Brae’s friendship and their growth, as well as getting more of Kol’s brothers. They each have such distinct personalities, and after the new information learned in this book about them, I am beyond excited for them to get their own stories as well.

I thought this flowed incredibly well, it had me engaged the entire time. It was the perfect blend of romance and suspense that was intense but also filled with healing and love, entertaining moments, and the right amount of spice. The second book in the Starlight Grove series was a hit!

I am a sucker for the single dad trope. It's one of my all-time favorites! Do you like the single father/parent trope? Let me know!
