New York Times bestselling author Jill Shalvis returns to Heartbreaker Bay with a fun and festive holiday novella!

It’s Christmas Eve and Rory Andrews is desperate to get home to the family she hasn’t seen in years. Problem is, her only ride to Lake Tahoe comes in the form of the annoyingly handsome Max Stranton, and his big, goofy, lovable dog Carl.

Hours stuck in a truck with the dead sexy Max sounds like a fate worse than death (not), but Rory’s out of options. She’s had a crush on Max since high school and she knows he’s attracted to her, too. But they have history… and Max is the only one who knows why it went south.

They’ve done a good job of ignoring their chemistry so far, but a long road trip in a massive blizzard might be just what they need to face their past… and one steamy, snowy night is all it takes to bring Max and Rory together at last.

This was so incredible sweet! A feel good story for sure. I loved Max and Rory's story.

Max and Rory were so great, I loved their animosity and playfulness. I enjoyed learning their history, there was a really good build as all the details were laid out. I loved watching their simmering chemistry really grow and them connect. I loved the bits of emotion that were woven in as well. I thought it was a really well rounded story. It had a great theme of healing and forgiveness that left me with a huge smile on my face.

This was an excellent read, it had a good pace but was a fast read since it was a novella. The writing was great. It had a fun feel throughout with Max and Rory’s verbal sparring. There was an excellent bit of romance happening making me feel oh so happy and totally swoon over Max. The ending was really sweet and maybe a touch sappy but somehow it worked for me because when it ended, I was smiling big time and riding a wave of happy.

A few ups and downs, some tension, and heat, and one very lovable dog made this story totally enjoyable. A quick, fun and super sweet read!
