Book Review: Beautifully Broken Control by Catherine Cowles

I loved watching Cain and Kennedy come together and get their happily ever after in Beautifully Broken Control. The fourth book in the Sutter Lake series was a winner!

I am loving the Sutter Lake series, and Beautifully Broken Control was a wonderful edition. I loved the intensity and build as Kennedy and Cain came together. I loved learning about them and their heartbreaking pasts, and I liked the clues of lurking dangers and how it all played out. It was an exciting read!

I really liked Kennedy and Cain. Kennedy had a heart of gold, and I loved how she and her adorable dog were starting over and how hard she worked. Cain was an overprotective alpha, but as I learned his history and understood why, my heart broke for him. They had a sweet relationship with a nice, slow burn happening. I loved Kennedy opening up to him and felt for Cain as he fought his emotions of what he was feeling for her. I liked the healing taking place for Kennedy with someone in her life, and for Cain about his past. As for the suspense, I liked learning about what Cain was facing with his company, and I was into all the hints of foul play with things surrounding Kennedy. I couldn't wait for them to get their HEA and the bad elements to be revealed. The ending was great, things amped up with a fantastic twist I did not see coming.

I loved the different characters, friendships, and bonds, and the heartfelt and entertaining scenes that were woven in thanks to them. I enjoyed the development and descriptions, though I felt the middle was drawn out. I was thrilled when the low-key suspense elements kicked into gear just when I needed it to.

Overall, I thought this was a great read and couldn’t put it down. I was immediately invested!
