I can't believe I only have two more books left in the Bridgerton series after this. When He Was Wicked was a wonderful addition, I had a great time reading Francesca and Michael's story and seeing some of my favorite characters again. This was a fun, sweet read for sure!
When He Was Wicked (Bridgertons #6) by Julia Quinn
In every life there is a turning point. A moment so tremendous, so sharp and breathtaking, that one knows one’s life will never be the same. For Michael Stirling, London’s most infamous rake, that moment came the first time he laid eyes on Francesca Bridgerton.
After a lifetime of chasing women, of smiling slyly as they chased him, of allowing himself to be caught but never permitting his heart to become engaged, he took one look at Francesca Bridgerton and fell so fast and hard into love it was a wonder he managed to remain standing. Unfortunately for Michael, however, Francesca’s surname was to remain Bridgerton for only a mere thirty-six hours longer—the occasion of their meeting was, lamentably, a supper celebrating her imminent wedding to his cousin.
But that was then . . . Now Michael is the earl and Francesca is free, but still she thinks of him as nothing other than her dear friend and confidant. Michael dares not speak to her of his love . . . until one dangerous night, when she steps innocently into his arms, and passion proves stronger than even the most wicked of secrets . . .

When He Was Wicked was another wonderful story in
the Bridgerton world. It was fun and sweet and I loved the characters. I enjoyed
their ups and downs and the incredible build to them coming together. It was a
great combination of entertaining, emotional, and charming.
I loved learning about Michael and Francesca’s history. I
felt so much for Michael and his longing for Francesca. My heart hurt for
Francesca and the pain she endured losing her husband. I loved watching their
feelings grow and all the emotions between them. I really liked the playfulness between
them as well mixed with the confusion and conflict they are each dealing with. There
was a nice amount of push and pull happening and just about the time I needed
more because things were starting to feel slow, I got exactly what I wanted.
I adored all the characters. They helped make the story
lively and engaging. Violet Bridgerton is one of my favorites. I also enjoyed
Michael's mother and aunt immensely. I loved Colin and his meddlesome ways, he
was priceless in this. I really liked the timeline and how it overlapped with
other stories in the series as well.
This a solid, super entertaining story that I had a great
time reading. I laughed, cheered, and got choked up. Delightful read!
