synopsis_thumb2_thumb
An exhilarating, primal summer fling in the woods leads to an intensely sexy, edgy romance, where anything goes—just remember your safe word.

Divorced and buried in student loan debt, Claire Collins eagerly enters a spicy business agreement with an acquaintance who wants to explore his primal desires. The deal is simple: thirty days as his sexual prey, $30,000 in her bank account. All she has to do is give Shane Underwood the hunt of his life.

Claire’s a physical education teacher and perfectly happy to spend her summer having wild, kinky sex instead of working her usual serving job. But once they cross the tree line, she realizes how little she knows about the corporate lawyer paying her to be his prey.

Shane is different in the woods. Brutal. Devastating. Feral.

That’s okay with Claire—she is, too. And she’s sinking her teeth a little deeper into Shane’s heart every time he catches her.

4 out of 5 stars

Holy heck! What did I just read, and can I have some more, please?! Willing Prey was everything I didn’t know I needed. It was addicting and intense with intriguing characters in a complex situation, and I could not put it down. It was wild and dirty filthy in the best way, but underneath it all, there was a great build of emotion as these two came together. The way it hooked me and had me invested was everything!

I loved Shane and Claire, they fascinated me. I loved how Shane was pulled to her. He had a bit of a stalker vibe happening. I loved Claire doing what she needed to after a bad divorce. They’ve got a contract in place to keep feelings in check, and I loved watching all that crumble as their attraction grew. They both liked the thrill of the chase, it was gritty and raw with a sexy edge. Beyond all the heat, there’s a growing connection that builds as they spend time together, and I loved seeing that shift. There’s some light drama involved, rounding it out, and I enjoyed it.

I liked meeting Margot, Shane’s assistant, and his brother Caine, and I’m already looking forward to their story. I was not a fan of Claire’s ex, but I liked the tension he added to the mix. I thought both Claire and Shane had good backstories. They’re not overly in-depth, but they gave me just enough to keep the story moving along at a good pace.

I was pretty much obsessed with this. I thought this was a fast-paced, exciting read that was off-the-charts-sexy (read the content warnings if you need to) and incredibly entertaining. From the intense chemistry to the sweet moments, I was all in.
