As soon as I picked up Lover Enthroned, I never wanted to put it down. I loved everything I learned about Allhan and Denne, and all the twists and turns along the way. This was such an exciting story in a world I love, and I could not get enough!
Lover Enthroned (Black Dagger Brotherhood #24) by J.R. Ward
In the newest paranormal romance in #1 New York Times bestselling author J. R. Ward’s Black Dagger Brotherhood series, star-crossed lovers face the battles of their lives...in the midst of war with the Lessening Society.
Allhan, a computer genius who works for the Brotherhood, has a deadly secret. Torn between what he must do and his increasing attachment to Vishous, he’s not looking for any more complications in his life. He’s not going to survive the one he has.
A Royal Future
Princess Dennesha, heir to the throne of the Shadows, is a live-and-let-die kind of female. At least until she finds herself tangling in the destiny of a human—even though it goes against her every instinct and all common sense.
A Terrible Choice
When Allhan and Denne meet by chance, their passion is undeniable. But a rare astrological event triggers a crossroads for the Princess to choose between love and duty: either mate a male she doesn’t love and assume the throne, or stay true to her heart and condemn the Territory to destruction. With Allhan fighting his conscience—and a lesser who’s after Wrath and the Brothers—can the two find a way out of their fates? Or are they doomed to grieve a love that could never be for eternity…

Lover Enthroned was such a fantastic story! I
love the Black Dagger Brotherhood world and how it pulls me in. It’s like I’m
hanging out with old friends, and it’s just an easy and inviting place to be. I
was immediately invested and excited about what was being laid out. I couldn’t get
enough of the characters, the different POVs and storylines, and the incredible
build. Every single one of these things had me hooked. This is one of my all-time
favorite series, and this book was an excellent addition.
Denne and Allhan have my heart. Up until now, Allhan had
seemed like a sweet yet timid, slightly awkward kid, but with this book, everything
about him was revealed. There were so many things learned that I did not see
coming, and I was here for it. It was exciting as the details of his past came
to light and learning what he was trying to accomplish. I loved
watching him really grow and come into himself. Denne was just kickass! She
seemed a little lost in the beginning, but that changed in a big way, and it was
all thrilling. There was fantastic development as everything was learned about
her path in life and the twists and turns that came along with it. And of
course, how it connected to Allhan. The two of them together were incredible.
They had a sweet and subtle relationship in the beginning, but there was this
undeniable pull between them, and I loved their building feelings and how
everything exploded between them in the way it does for the vampires of this
world and those dark spices started spicing. I adored the story of them coming
together.
In true J.R. Ward fashion, there was more than Denne and
Allhan’s story happening, and I loved the alternating storylines and POVs, and I
couldn’t wait for who I would hear from next and how things would connect. I
loved everything that had to do with Vishous and him coming to terms with his
feelings about Allhan. There were so many emotions in play, and he actually had
me choking up. I was happy to see iAm again as well and loved his devotion to his family. I loved the depth and details that really helped to create a
full, rich story. I was thrilled to get more insight on L.W. and understand
more about his internal battle. I cannot wait for his book! I also loved
mentions of past Brothers and characters and how they added so much to the
story for me.
From start to finish, I was captivated. This was a
book I couldn’t read fast enough, and yet I never wanted it to end. There was
great drama and intensity, and emotion and humor laced throughout. I’m a huge
fan of reading in order, but since there are a lot of books in this series, I
feel like you could jump in with this one and not feel lost. Loved it all!
