I was so excited for Trevan and Elena's story, and it did not disappoint. The tension and yearning were everything! I loved these two fighting their feelings and coming together in the midst of an intense situation. The second book in the Crimson Crows series is now available.
Carved in the Shadows (Crimson Crows #2) by A.L. Jackson

It was a terrible idea to agree to move in with my best friend’s little sister…
She’s everything I’ve ever wanted and the one woman I can never touch. As our motorcycle club’s Vice President, I'm responsible for keeping her safe. Crossing that line isn't just forbidden. It's punishable by death.
When she demands the chance to spread her wings, it’s my duty to go with her. I knew staying with her would be excruciating. Listening to her in her room―hearing her in the shower. Every day tests my resolve.
But when she asks me to crawl into bed with her so she won’t feel so alone, there’s nothing I can do. One brush of her hand and I’m crumbling. One crook of those fingers and I’m trapped. One reckless night and there’s no going back.
Except desire is the least of our problems. Someone is watching her. Threatening her. Hunting her. Now I'm racing to stop an enemy closing in while hiding a secret that could cost us both our lives.
But I promised her everything, and I’m willing to offer the greatest sacrifice.

This limited first run is available in the US and Canada while supplies last.
I devoured Carved in the Shadows! All the
yearning, want, and need between Trevan and Elena had me on the edge of my
seat. The push and pull between them and their simmering attraction were
excellent. I loved how their feelings and history slowly came to light, and the
bits of suspense that were woven in. This was a detailed, intense story that
had me hooked!
I loved learning everything about Trevan and Elena and
how it was set up with a past and present storytelling. I loved Elena! She
was a bright, positive light who had an infectious personality. Trevan is gruff
and protective and would do anything for her. I hurt for him because of how he
was raised and saw himself. I loved him fighting his feelings because Elena’s
his best friend’s sister, and he doesn’t think he deserves her. I loved him
coming to understand he was more than the bad from his past and learning a few
more surprising secrets as well. I enjoyed the development of their relationship
with the longing looks and teasing as well as the flirting and great banter.
The sexual tension between these two was off the charts. I loved when they
finally gave over to their feelings, and everything exploded.
I liked seeing Silas and Brinkley again, getting more of Brody,
and Kai and Meems. I also liked learning how deep the bond between Trevan and
Silas ran and what transpired between the two. I liked the low-key suspense
elements that were mixed in. While the suspense felt lighter to me, it still
brought a nice amount of drama, action, and emotion. I
especially loved when the past collided with the present. It was exciting!
I thought this was an engaging story with captivating
characters, and I totally enjoyed it. Sometimes it did feel a bit drawn out in places, but I
kept right on reading because I couldn’t wait for Trevan and Elena to get their
HEA. I thought this was a great addition to the Crimson Crows series, and
with what was introduced at the end with Brody, I’m already excited for the
next one.
