I couldn't wait to read Sunlight and for Jax and Sasha to get their HEA. I loved the chemistry between these two, the push and pull, and the fact that they worked together. Add in an accidental pregnancy and I could not put this down! It was a fantastic story!
Sunlight (Haven River Ranch #2) by Devney Perry
My first day in Montana, I got into a tug-of-war over a grocery store shopping cart. The most handsome man I’d ever seen broke up the scuffle before he asked me on a date. I was seconds away from accepting but then he told me his name.
As an owner of the Haven River Ranch, Jax Haven wasn’t my boss. But he wasn’t not my boss either.
Obviously, my only option was to turn him down, scurry away, then pretend like he was a stranger on my first day of work. And obviously, I could never, ever admit that he was my secret crush.
For as hard as I work at my job, I work twice as hard to pretend Jax doesn’t exist. I don’t let myself think about his dazzling eyes or charming smile. I refuse to acknowledge how good he looks in a pair of faded Wrangler jeans. And as tempting as he is in a cowboy hat, Jax is a distraction I cannot afford.
Everything was going according to plan until the annual holiday party. Until I drank one too many flutes of champagne and let him sweep me off my feet. After a night in his bed, there was no more ignoring Jax Haven. Not when I’m pregnant with his baby.
5 out of 5 stars
I loved Sunlight from start to finish. That very first moment when Jax and Sasha met, I was all in. I hated
putting it down because I was so lost in their lives as I watched them
fall in love. There's so much emotion, heart, and healing in this, plus a bit of
drama, and a lot of passion and holy wow with the heat. I loved everything
about it and inhaled it!
I loved Sasha and how hard she worked. I felt the pain she
was harboring and couldn't wait to learn all her secrets. Jax was fantastic and
he totally made me swoon. I liked the instant chemistry Jax and Sasha had with the cute flirting. I
loved the push and pull between these two, Jax’s adorable smirks and looks, and
how Sasha tried to stay away but couldn't resist his charms. When those walls
start to come down and she lets him in, it was everything I could have wanted. I
loved the build of them coming together after they found out about the surprise
pregnancy. There's tension and a lot of emotion and I liked how Jax was there
for her and how Sasha slowly opened up and let him in. I liked the hints about
her past and what she was working through in the present day and thought it was
crafted perfectly into the story. When Jax and Sasha finally have their
moment when they first say I love you, it was perfection!
I really liked getting more West and Indya and their
updates. I enjoyed getting to know Jax’s best friend Emery and what was going
on with her. I also liked Jax’s dad and seeing his growth. I liked what was
happening with his pseudo mom Lily and the feelings that came with those scenes
as they moved forward. There was a lot of emotion overall in this story thanks
to both Jax’s and Shasha’s healing, the different family dynamics, and then the baby. I loved it all!
There was a great build with a lot of wonderful details
making for a well-rounded story. I loved Jax and Sasha and by the end, it gave
me so much hope and I loved all the feelings it evoked in me. It was
beautifully done!
