Yep. It looks like summer is over and so is Riley’s bad luck. Or is it?
While Nick gives up sleeping and showering to obsess over the cold case that still haunts him, his business partner Mrs. Penny is calling the investigative shots. It’s every bit as bad as you can imagine.
Meanwhile, Riley has her hands full fixing up the crumbling crime scene they call home and setting boundaries with the breaking-and-entering octogenarians next door. You know. Normal stuff.
But normal comes to a screeching halt when our favorite psychic is abducted by a stranger with candy, and her powers go on the fritz. To make matters worse, it becomes clear that Riley’s new house guests are definitely either in trouble or are trouble after bad guys deliver a warning with a severed finger.
Can Nick and Riley solve the case the old-fashioned way before they all end up in pieces? Or will a surprise birthday party, a dog doody bandit, an accidental arson, and a blast from the past be too much for them to handle?

Riley Thorn and the Blast from the Past was a totally
hilarious, wild, and entertaining story that had me laughing and smiling the
entire time! Riley and Nick are back with their outrageous and loveable
crew of family and friends, unique cases they’re working on, and a crazy blast
from the past. This was an absolute blast to read (see what I did there?!)!
Nick and Riley were amazing with their back-and-forth
flirting and chemistry. I loved seeing where they were at in life, what they
were dealing with, how Riley dealt with her loss of powers, and how the
blast from the past played into it all. That person was totally over the top
(in a good way!) and I love how it all worked out. The cases were super crazy
(crazy is definitely a keyword!) but they were hilarious thanks to Mrs. Penny
and their friends and family. All the older folks are in true form with their
witty personalities. There were a few smaller stories happening that upped the
fun factor. I liked how they worked out, where others might go, and how the
loose ends were tied up.
This was filled with awesome shenanigans that made me
happy. Even though it’s wild and crazy, it was a solid story that had me
hooked right from the start, there were great details and an excellent build. It
was exciting and funny with lots of action throughout. This was fast-paced and
light with a bit of mystery and a lot of laughs and a seriously amusing cast of
characters. I’m looking forward to what’s up next for Riley and her cohorts. Get
ready for an outrageous ride that’s a delight to read and 100% entertaining!
