July 2023 in Review | About That Story

The Wall of Winnipeg and Me by Mariana Zapata
The Wall of Winnipeg and Me is officially one of my favorite books EVER! 6 stars! I loved it more than words can express. It’s a book that I never wanted to put down and the world around me faded away as I fell in love with Vanessa and Aiden. I thought the humor, internal dialogue, and simmering emotion were fantastic and the build was phenomenal. There is not one thing about it I would have done differently. Perfection!

Anger Bang (Downside of Dating #1) by Avery Flynn
Anger Bang was so flipping funny. And hot. Seriously, anger bang indeed! I loved the characters, the chaos that ensued, and all the 80’s references. It was super sexy (seriously with the heat!) but there were a lot of sweet, heartfelt moments as well. It made for a really entertaining read that was just outright enjoyable!

Getting Real (Getting Some #3) by Emma Chase
I loved this so much! Getting Real was funny, sexy, and sweet with the perfect mix of emotion blended in. I loved watching Connor and Violet fall in love and the flirting and playfulness between them. I really liked all the characters involved and seeing old favorites. This story felt like coming home, it was incredibly entertaining and heartfelt!

Chasing Serenity (River Rain #2) by Kristen Ashley
Chasing Serenity was a wonderful read filled with so much passion, emotion, and love. I adored Chloe and Judge. I loved the journey they were on, the feelings they fought, and how they grew over the course of the story. I loved their family and all the different bonds, and the fantastic build as everything played out. This was filled with so many amazing moments and I couldn't read it fast enough.

A Rogue in Texas (Rogues in Texas #1) by Lorraine Heath
A Rogue in Texas was a wonderful read! I liked Grayson and Abbie and the ups and downs of their relationship and was thrilled when they finally got their HEA. I thought this was fast-paced and entertaining with a good mix of emotions happening.

Rock Chick Rematch by Kristen Ashley - Amazon | Releases January 23, 2024

Kristen Ashley announced this month that Rock Cick Rematch, Darius and Malia's story, will be releasing January 23, 2024. I am beyond excited. The Rock Chick series is one of my ALL TIME favorites and I'm thrilled that Darius will finally get his story. Can't wait!

About the book:

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Kristen Ashley brings a new story in her Rock Chick series…

In high school, Malia Clark found the man of her dreams.

Darius Tucker.

But life hits them full in the face way before it ever should. Darius makes a drastic decision to keep his family safe and Malia leaves town with a secret.

When Malia returns, she seeks Darius to share all, but Darius finds out before she can tell him. At the same time, she finds out just how much Darius has changed in the years she’s been away.

She just refuses to give up on him.

Until he forces her hand.

Secrets come between Malia and Darius, at the same time Malia has to worry about weird things going on at the law firm where she works, her kid wants a car and she’s stuck in slow-cooker hell. Luckily, her ride or dies have her back.

And in the meantime, she might just learn she never should have lost hope in Darius Tucker.

**Every 1001 Dark Nights novella is a standalone story. For new readers, it’s an introduction to an author’s world. And for fans, it’s a bonus book in the author’s series. We hope you'll enjoy each one as much as we do.**

I know 2024 is a ways off still but are there any books for the upcoming year that are on your radar? Let me know!
