Forsaken Trail was simply amazing and I love how it made me feel. Aria and Brody are wonderful characters. This is another exceptional story in the Runaway series that's not to be missed.
Forsaken Trail (Runaway #4) by Devney Perry
But at least there is champagne.
She blames the bubbly for falling into bed with Brody that night. Enemy or no, the billionaire is irresistible in a tux. But after their one-night tryst, Aria has no choice but to cut her vacation short, returning home to escape his devilish smile, vowing never to see Brody again.
Except Aria gets a surprise a few weeks later—she’s pregnant. When he learns that she’s carrying his child, Brody offers Aria the chance of a lifetime. The catch? She has to live under his roof until the baby is born.
Either they’ll kill each other in nine months. Or discover love buried beneath their hate.
5 out of 5 stars
Forsaken Trail was such a beautiful, heartfelt
story! I loved every single thing about it. I loved the banter, emotion,
and build as Aria and Brody came together. I hung on every word. There was such
a perfect flow and I was pulled in the entire time.
I loved Aria so much and the amazing strength and grit she
had to tackle things head on. I instantly loved Brody as well but the more I
learned about him, the more in love with him I fell. There was a fantastic
antagonism between them with great verbal sparring that oozed sexual tension.
I loved that building attraction and seeing a different side of Brody. When the
surprise of Aria being pregnant is learned, my heart pretty much exploded, Brody made me melt. The two of them opening up, sharing, and navigating everything
was so wonderful, it felt like vulnerability and promise.
I loved learning more about the junkyard. Each person in
their group has a slightly different perspective as the series continues and I enjoy those different
views. I loved the bond Aria had with her sister Clara and how they're always
there for each other. I am super excited about Clara’s story next!
This was a light and engaging read with exceptional characters
that made my heart feel full. I never felt like there was a good place to stop
and didn’t want to put it down. I am a huge enemies to lovers fan and this
one hit the spot. It wasn't overly angsty but I thought it had just the
right amount of sharp wit and banter mixed in with mild drama and animosity. There
were so many real moments and feelings with exceptional details, I got choked
up several times. It was entertaining and sweet with just the right touch of
heat.
This is such an amazing series. I always feel like I'm
coming home with Devney Perry books. This was no exception. Forsaken
Trail is a must-read!

Aria gave me a small smile, but as we took another step, it changed. Twisted. The fire in her gaze sparked even brighter. The mischievous woman whose words cut like a Samurai sword was ready for the show.
Her hand let go of my arm to slide down the sleeve of my tux jacket. Aria laced her fingers with mine as her other hand snaked up my chest. She inched so close that her scent, floral and sweet, filled my nose.
That intoxicating smell scrambled my brain and I couldn’t tear my eyes away from the curls in her shiny hair. I wanted to twist them around my fingers, then take the strands in my fist and—
What. The. F*ck.
This was Aria. A woman who openly admitted she hated me the way I hated her. An enemy. My assistant’s sister.
There’d be no fisting of her hair. No licking of her lips. No nibbling of her ears.
