Book Review: Hello Stranger (The Ravenels #4) by Lisa Kleypas

I am loving this series! Hello Stranger was a fantastic addition to The Ravenels. Garrett and Ethan were such great characters and I loved all the ins and out of them getting to their HEA. It was a truly great read!

A woman who defies her time

Dr. Garrett Gibson, the only female physician in England, is as daring and independent as any man—why not take her pleasures like one? Yet she has never been tempted to embark on an affair, until now. Ethan Ransom, a former detective for Scotland Yard, is as gallant as he is secretive, a rumored assassin whose true loyalties are a mystery. For one exhilarating night, they give in to their potent attraction before becoming strangers again.

A man who breaks every rule

As a Ravenel by-blow spurned by his father, Ethan has little interest in polite society, yet he is captivated by the bold and beautiful Garrett. Despite their vow to resist each other after that sublime night, she is soon drawn into his most dangerous assignment yet. When the mission goes wrong, it will take all of Garrett's skill and courage to save him. As they face the menace of a treacherous government plot, Ethan is willing to take any risk for the love of the most extraordinary woman he's ever known.

4 out of 5 stars

Hello Stranger was an incredibly entertaining story with a nice amount of drama, an awesome mix of cloak and dagger involved, and really wonderful characters. I had a great time reading it!

I liked both Ethan and Garrett a lot. Ethan was so mysterious and sexy with this amazing presence and swagger. I liked how protective he was of Garrett. I loved learning about Ethan, his past, and family connections. I have liked Garrett since first meeting her and enjoyed learning about her and loved how independent and hardworking she is. She's got this unwavering determination that I admired. I adored the growing relationship between Ethan and Garrett, the conflict involved, and the building passion and heat. This was filled with so many fun moments that had me smiling as well as some emotional ones too.

I loved getting to see the Ravenels and other character connections from previous stories. I especially loved West. He's always intrigued me and I love his fun, self-deprecating humor, and seeing how much he's grown since being first introduced. I cannot wait for his story.

I thought this was a well-written story that kept me on my toes. I was intrigued by the drama and what Ethan was going through. It had a good mix of everything, I thought it was really well rounded. Each story in The Ravenels series always seems to have a bit of a different feel for me and I loved the feel this one had with the circumstances that Ethan was in. I thought this was a great addition to the series. I totally enjoyed it!

things-to-note_thumb2
These historical romance books by Lisa Kleypas are standalone stories so you can read them in any order you want. They do have interconnected characters so it was suggested to me to start at the very beginning with The Wallflowers series. This way you can see all the characters grow and have kids. I loved reading them this way, I enjoyed the build, the overall character development, and the flow of the world as it expands. If you are an "in order" person like me, I suggest the following reading order:

The Wallflowers Series - The Hathaways Series - The Ravenels Series

I've officially read all three of these series but am behind on sharing my reviews. After this review for Hello Stranger, I only have two more to go! In my opinion, Lisa Kleypas can do no wrong, I can't begin to say enough good things.

I need a new historical romance series to binge. Let me know some of your favorites!
