Book Review: Marrying Winterborne (The Ravenels #2) by Lisa Kleypas

Lisa Kleypas is officially one of my favorite authors. If I hadn't made that clear before, I figured I'd put that out into the universe now. Marrying Winterborne was a wonderful read, I adored Rhys and Helen so much and loved getting lost in their story.

Marrying Mr. Winterborne

This was an exceptionally well-written story. I am completely in love with this world and all the characters the author has created. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time!

I loved Rhys and Helen. I loved all their ups and downs in the beginning, it made for a great introduction. Rhys is a bit gruff on the outside but passionate and kind when it came to Helen, he made me swoon. I adored Helen and loved watching her come out of her shell and become a strong, confident woman. I loved learning their histories, them letting their guards down, and opening up. I was filled with anticipation, excited for them to work through things and get to their HEA. There were sweet and emotional moments as well as playful and super sexy ones.

There is this fantastic group of characters in the story and I love how they all played their parts and the different nuances they brought to it. I enjoyed the updates on other characters from the previous story and how they're developing. I was also thrilled to meet new characters and am excited about their stories. 

I loved the first book in The Ravenels series but this somehow surpassed it. Seeing the characters grow and open up was amazing. The attention to detail is great, it had an excellent flow that had me hooked the entire time. It was all just incredibly well done and I can't begin to say enough good things. All the stars!

Technically these historical romance books by Lisa Kleypas are standalone's so you can read them in any order you want. The stories do have interconnected characters so it was suggested to me to start at the very beginning with The Wallflowers series. This way you can see all the characters grow and have kids. I am so glad I decided to do this, I loved the build, the overall character development and the flow of the world as it expands. If you are an "in order" person like me, I suggest the following reading order:

The Wallflowers Series - The Hathaways Series - The Ravenels Series 

I've officially read all three of these series but am behind on sharing my reviews. They're all so fantastic though, I can't begin to say enough good things.
