From USA Today Bestselling Author Devney Perry writing as Willa Nash comes a small town Montana romance.

Duke Evans didn’t expect to interrupt a beautiful woman in a staring contest with a bison on his favorite hiking trail. He also didn’t expect to see her again after rescuing her from the surly beast. As the sheriff in Calamity, Montana, he’s had his fair share of surprises but none as pleasant as pulling over a shiny black car and finding his mysterious hiking companion behind the wheel.

Only, she lied to Duke. She gave him a name as fake as her hair color. According to her driver’s license, her real name is Lucy Ross, the famous country music singer whose sudden disappearance has been a hot topic in the media over the past two weeks.

He’s not sure why Lucy lied about her identity or why she’s in Calamity. And she’s not talking. Instead, she offers him a bribe to keep her secret.

But Duke doesn’t want her money. He wants to know why this woman is on the run. And as long as the star shines on his badge, he’s going to find out.

5 out of 5 stars

The Bribe was so sweet and swoon-worthy with a fantastic mix of suspense and emotion mixed in. I loved all the fun, entertaining moments too. Excellent read!

That first chapter was a riot, pulling me in and making me want to learn everything about Lucy and Duke. Duke was the sweetest and oh so sexy! Seriously, this man, I ate up every scene with him in it. He was so caring and protective, a genuinely good guy. I loved Lucy and the build to learning her secret, I was on the edge of my seat as everything developed. The two of them together were fantastic. I loved the instant attraction they had and her trying to hold back and keep her secrets close. I enjoyed Duke figuring out who Lucy really was and the whole bribe aspect. There were just a lot of really great scenes that had me smiling and rooting for them. There was a bit of drama, a lot of emotion, a good amount of fun and heat, and a really amazing story happening from beginning to end.

There was a wonderful cast of characters in this inviting, small-town romance. I loved the relationships Duke had with several of the townspeople, especially Travis. I loved Lucy’s best friend Everly, she seems like a force to be reckoned with. There was a nice character connection from another story happening that made my day as well. The ending was fantastic, it was sweet and heartfelt, like icing on the cake with all the loose ends tied up and an awesome teaser for the next book, The Bluff. I can’t wait!

This was a fast-paced, addicting read. I love how this author tells a story. I always feel pulled in and a part of the world with these really great building details. The characters are always rich and full, and so genuine. I love being a part of it. The Bribe was an amazing series starter. I loved the mystery, emotion, love, and heat. Duke and Lucy were amazing!

things-to-note_thumb2
I love Devney Perry and everything she writes so I was pretty excited to see she created a pen name. Why a pen name? Because every book written as Willa Nash will be available in Kindle Unlimited. Books as Devney Perry are available across multiple retailers and rarely if ever go into the KU program. Since some readers prefer Kindle Unlimited, Willa Nash was born. Pretty cool right? There's something for everyone!
