Tattered was an awesome read and a wonderful series starter. I loved Thea and Logan and can't wait to head back into the Lark Cove series!
Tattered (Lark Cove #1) by Devney Perry
Thea Landry has always known her place in modern-day society. It’s somewhere just above the trash can her mother dumped her in as a newborn but below the class where much comes easy. With her tattered shoes and bargain-bin clothes, her life has never been full of glamour.
So when a rich and charismatic man takes interest, she doesn’t fool herself into thinking their encounter is anything more than a one-night stand. Months later, she’s kicking herself for not getting his phone number. Or his last name. She’s given up hope of seeing him ever again.
Until one day, years later, Logan Kendrick waltzes into her life once more and turns everything she’s built upside down. This time around, she won’t make the same mistake. She’s going to fight to keep him in her life—not for herself.
But for their daughter.
4 out of 5 stars
This was an excellent way to kick off a new series. I loved
Logan and Thea. I enjoyed the building tension and angst, all the heartfelt
emotion, and sweet moments happening. Tattered was a really wonderful
read!
I loved Thea and this strength she had to make a better life
for herself. How she stood by her convictions and did whatever she could to
make sure her daughter was happy, always putting her first. I loved Logan and
how he was immediately all in after learning he had a baby girl. He was charming
and kind but out of his element and I couldn't wait for him to figure it all
out. I really liked Thea and Logan meeting and connecting, and then
reconnecting. Even though they've been apart, they still had an instant
connection that I could feel. I loved Logan meeting his adorable daughter and the
bond they formed. There were just a lot of really great moments that filled
me up and had me smiling.
This was a solid story that pulled me in, giving me
everything I needed to be invested in these characters' lives. I enjoyed the mild
drama and the small suspense element that was in play. I really liked Logan's
connection to the Jamison valley series as well. There was also a really well-rounded cast of secondary characters and I'm looking forward to more in this series. I
can't wait for Jackson and Willa next.
This was an endearing story about second chances, falling
in love, and finding your happiness. I absolutely enjoyed reading it and
meeting these wonderful characters.
