Timid was an exceptionally wonderful story filled with so much heart. I loved the emotion and heat and the incredible build to it all. Two books down, two to go. I'm loving the Lark Cove series!
Timid (Lark Cove #2) by Devney Perry
Year after year, Willa stands by, watching as the bartender slash playboy drowns his demons in beer and sex. Then one night, he shows up at her door, suddenly aware that the girl he’s seen around Lark Cove is now a beautiful woman.
Except what he doesn’t remember is that this visit isn’t his first. They spent a night together once before. A night he’s forgotten, thanks to a bottle of tequila.
A night that crushed a timid girl’s heart, and set a broken man on the path to heal them both.
5 out of 5 stars
Timid was an absolutely wonderful story! I
loved the longing and sweetness, tension and passion, and all the love and
healing. I was caught up in it all and hooked the entire time!
I loved Willa and Jackson so much. I loved learning about
Willa and her long-standing crush on Jackson. She was so shy and sweet in the
beginning and I loved her boldness growing over the course of the story.
Jackson was fantastic and I loved all the different intricacies about him. I
hurt for him and his past and loved when he started to open up and be
vulnerable. I liked learning where he was at in life and how he finally woke up
and truly saw Willa. I loved when those moments came for him and the conflict
he felt and how he had to work to really get in there with her. They had
some ups and downs, there's a bit of drama and a whole lot of heat. There were so
many heartfelt moments as they connected and I was thrilled about it all.
There were several things I didn’t see coming, which is
always great when reading. I loved how this new information was added into
the mix, bringing out a different side of Jackson. I loved the different
characters and the small-town feel and getting updates in Thea and Logan. I
really enjoyed Willa’s parents and their family dynamic as well as another
character that was connected to Jackson. I loved the suspense element mixed in
at the end and how it kept me on my toes.
I loved the build and details as Willa and Jackson figure
things out and experience their growing pains. I really liked how this book
overlapped with the timeline of the first book in the series as well. I felt
so much emotion for these two and got choked up several times as they made
their way to happy. Excellent story and addition to the series.
