Book Review: Tinsel by Devney Perry

I wish I could move to Lark Cove and hang out with all of these wonderful characters. I loved getting to watch Sophie and Dakota fall in love and find their happily ever after. This was an excellent addition to the series.

synopsis_thumb2_thumb
Sofia Kendrick has always cherished her tiara. As the youngest daughter of a wealthy New York family, she’s lived the life of an American princess. But after two scandalous divorces and a breakup smear her name across the society rags, the shine from her crown has dulled. People call her superficial, even gaudy.

She’s nothing more than tinsel.

Desperate for escape and starving for peace, Sofia heads to Montana for a holiday weekend with her brother. But she doesn’t get the relaxing vacation she planned. Instead, she’s put to work in a bar alongside Dakota Magee—a man who does not want her help. A man who is set on teaching her a few lessons about real life and hard work. But Sofia has a couple of life lessons of her own to teach. Like how to fall in love.

4 out of 5 stars

Tinsel was a sweet, sexy, and fun read! There were so many heartfelt moments that had me smiling and I was thrilled when Sophia and Dakota got their happily ever after.

Sophia and Dakota were great characters. I felt so much for Sophia as she figured out who she was. She had a big heart and I loved her really believing in herself and blossoming. Dakota was so charming. I loved how hard he worked and what he was trying to accomplish in life. I loved the tension they had at the beginning and the building sexual attraction between them, leading to a lot of heat-filled moments I enjoyed. I liked their ups and downs and the conflict they faced as well as some personal issues Dakota was dealing with. There was a good mix of emotion as well as playful moments.

I loved seeing everyone from the series and getting updates on them. I really liked getting to know Sophia’s sister Audrey and am looking forward to her novella. There's an excellent epilogue as well that had me choking up. This story just made me happy to read, it was wonderful!
